Chapter 7

Flashback...

10 years ago...

I sat on the swing and looked at the sky above me. The clouds were aligned perfectly. The day was to beautiful to be wasted. A girl ran to the swings talking to herself which I thought was a little odd. She pushed a swing but no one was there. She began talking again to no one. She looked at me. Her eyes begging me to play with her.

"Wanna play?", she asked.

"What are we playing?", I asked hopping off the swing.

"We're playing astronaut princess. Right now the princess is going into space. 3,2,1 blast off!', she shouted giving the swing one last push.

"But people will think we're weird doing this. Can't we just go play tag?", I asked.

"Being weird is a fun way of being awesome. You wanna be awesome right?", she asked.

"Yeah", I replied.

"Then play with me", she said.

I did as she said and began playing. At least a week later we began being friends. When people told us we're weird for doing something they thought was weird we'd just say being weird is being awesome. Then they'd just walk away and we'd continue playing our little game. A few days later we dedicated our friendship to being weird. And that's the story of our friendship.
