Chapter 14

Last time on The Vampire's Girl...

"Hello Sage. Long time no see", the man said.

"Kane", I said.

Present Day....

"I thought I'd never find you again", he said.

"That was the point", I said.

"Oh come on Sagey. You could've done better than this", he said.

"Don't call me Sagey. Connor told me what you want from me", I said.

"Oh don't tell me you're still with him. He doesn't really care about you. Do you really love him?", he asked.

"I do love him", I replied.

"I can't believe what I'm hearing. You deserve better than him", he said.

"Connor is perfect. I don't want anyone else", I said.

"Come on Sage. I can give you more than he ever can", he said walking towards me.

"No", I said.

"I can even give you immorality. Connor won't give you that will he?", he asked.

"Just because he won't turn me doesn't mean I'll leave him", I replied.

"Fine. I'm gonna go then. Connor is coming back home. Don't tell him I came to visit or you'll be sorry", he said.

With a blink of an eye he was gone. Connor came in the room and looked at me really confused.

"Who was in here while I was gone?", he asked.

"Dylan and that's it", I replied.

"You're lying. I can tell. Who was in here?", he asked.

"Just Dylan. I'm not lying. Read my mind and you'll see I'm telling the truth", I replied.

He looked at me for a few seconds and looked away.

"I'm going to kill him", he said.

"Connor no. If finds out you know you were here he might kill me", I said.

"What am I supposed to do? Sit here while he threatens you?", he asked.

"No. I have a plan", I replied.

"What's your plan?", he asked.

"We'll let him visit a few more times. I'll pretend to fall in love with him. After the first date you'll pop up and take him out", I replied.

"No. I'm not letting you go out with that physic vampire. Even if it is to protect you", he said.

"Connor we have to. It's the only way", I said.

"Alright fine. But if he tries anything I will end him before the plan is over", he said.

"Thank you", I said.

I heard a knock at the door and Mariah walked in. She didn't look so happy. She looked pretty frustrated and angry. Frangry is what I'd call it.

"What's wrong?", Connor asked.

"Kane's here and he isn't alone. He's here for Sage and he isn't leaving until he gets her you fight him", she replied.

"Well looks like we're fighting because he's not taking Sage", he said.

He turned to look at me and gave me a quick kiss. Then walked out the room with Mariah. I ran to the window and watched what was happening outside. Kane had come with at least thirty vampires. 31 against 3. This won't end well. I ran outside and leaned my back against the door. Without thinking I grabbed a stick and checked to see how pointy the end was. Sharp enough to cut someone. Closing my eyes I used the stick and made a small cut on my wrist letting the blood flow out easily. Everyone stopped and suddenly all eyes were on me. Next thing I knew I was upstairs in the bathroom with Connor.

"What were you thinking?", he asked.

"I can't let you get hurt. I'm not gonna let that happen", I replied.

"Do you realize you could've died out there. Oh my gosh Sage you could've been killed. I don't know what I'd do without you", he said.
"I don't care. I can't let you get hurt", I said while he bandaged my wrist.

"Yea well ditto. Don't ever do anything like that again", he said.

"Okay I won't. Just don't fight him. It'll be useless because it's 31 to 3. You'd be dead in minutes", I said.

"You act like I'm going to get hurt. Kane wouldn't dare to try and hit me", he said.

"You don't know that. He'll stop at nothing to get me", I said.

"As long as your with me you're okay. How do you feel?", he asked.

"I feel fine", I replied.

"Good. I need you to go into the room and don't come out. Just stay there where you're safe", he said.

"I can't", I said.

"Yes you can. Go in there and don't come out until I tell you to got it?", he asked.

"Okay just don't fight", I replied.

"Can't guarantee that but okay", he said.

We walked out the bathroom and went opposite directions. I just hope he doesn't do anything stupid.

Hey guys. I'm so sorry I haven't updated in forever. As you may know I'm currently writing book 3 for my series The Vampire Prince's Mate and that's been taking up most my time. Also I forgot I was even writing this book cause my little notebook of book ideas has gone missing and I can't find it. I apologize and I will get to this book more often but if I don't blame my new series. So that's all I wanted to say bye guys.
