Falling For The Vampire

Chapter 17

"Aden. Why are we going and how far is it?", I asked.

"We're going because my friend lives their and he's king of the vampires so he can kill Kane and protect us from him", he replied.

"So vampire royalty exists?", I asked.

"Yeah it's sorta like a vampire government except with royalty. No one really sees them unless they are visiting the town but that's rare", he replied.

"How do you know?", I asked.

"I was apart of the vampire court. I was the son of the head chef. My father he worked there as the head chef. Every Wednesday he'd deliver the meals to the Prince which is Cole but he's king now. We were best friends until my father died and I had to leave the castle. We found ways to see each other after I left but one thing led to another and he got caught sneaking out the castle without his parents permission and his royal bodyguards. He was banned from seeing me ever since because his parents thought I was a bad influence. I was a peasant and he was royalty. They just don't mix", he replied.

"Connor I'm so sorry. I didn't know", I said.

It must be terrible to have your best friend taken from you like that without warning. I never knew how it felt. My life was perfect. Connor cleared his throat and began speaking.

"It's okay. We should go get your stuff and get on the road before Kane tries to pull anything on us", he said.

"Yeah we should get going", I agreed.

Connor grabbed a bag and stuffed some of his stuff in it. Then took my hand and led me to the car.

"So do you ever just like I don't know ever stay home?", I asked.

"Not really. I just use it when I have a vampire party", he said.

"It's to small for all those people to fit", I said.

"Well that's because it's a retractable house. No one's ever heard of them because it was built just for me. I press a button on my keys and it flips into a house big enough to fit over 300 people. I only have it at a small size because I'm the only one in it sometimes", he said driving onto the street.

"Makes sense I guess", I said.

We arrived at my house and I went inside. It was empty as I expected but a little to empty. Something was wrong. The smell of death hit me as soon as I got upstairs. I went into my dad's room and saw him laying on he floor. I ran over to him and found him out cold. His body was pale and his chest wasn't rising up and down like it was supposed to. I knelt to the floor and tried to find a pulse. Nothing.

"Connor!", I screamed.

I broke down crying above him.

"Sage there's a note. I think you should read it", he said.

I took the note and read it slowly. Taking in all the information.

"Give Sage to me or else I'll take away something else she loves. I'll be seeing you soon.
-Kane"

He was here. My dad came home early and didn't call to tell me he was home. I could've prevented all of this. I crumpled the note and threw it across the room. This can't be happening.

"We need to leave now. How long will it take to get there?", I asked.
"73 hours", he replied.

I ran to my room and grabbed everything I need. I took my bags and dropped them downstairs. I was to lazy to carry them myself and I wasn't about to have Connor carry them. Not yet at least.

"Let's go", I said.

Kane's POV

I walked down the street and into a near by phone booth. They're going to Aden now. Perfect. Now I can get revenge on the new king Cole. Before I turned I was a human slave in the castle. Daily I was fed from, abused and tortured. Now centuries later I can finally get revenge. I dialed a number and prayed he would pick up.

"Hello", a voice answered.

"Devon. It's Kane", I said.

"Ah long time no see brother. When are you gonna visit?", he asked.

"Soon. I need a favor. In a few days a vampire and a human will arrive in Aden. I need you to leave the royal family alone for a while until I arrive. Then we can seek vengeance in them all", I replied.

"Why you got beef with the vampire and human on your turf?", he asked.

"Remember what happened a long time ago? That's why I want revenge", I replied.

"Alright where they staying?", he asked.

"In the castle. Don't harm the four. Just leave them alone until we got a plan", I said.

"Okay. I have to go. I hear my lunch calling", he said.

"Alright bye", I said.

"Bye", he said.

End of call. This is gonna be easy...

Hey guys. So I know some of you may be confused so let me clear it up.

Centuries ago Connor and Cole became best friends and still are. The reason why I'm colliding the two books is because I need to spice up the two books. So for the next few weeks you guys need to read Vampire Family because that's where the story will take place until the battle is over. The reason Devon and Kane are brothers? They're not brothers by blood they're vampire brothers. They grew up together and they both joined this rebellion against the royals back when Connor was apart of the vampire royalty court. How did he become apart of the vampire royal court? His father needed a job and the only job he was qualified for is head chef. Why did does Devon want Isabel so badly? He wants her because he wants to be king and he won't get that title without the help of Isabel. Why does Kane want Sage? He wants her because of something that happened centuries ago (which I'll tell you later). So if that clears up any confusion I'm gonna be working on Vampire Family until the battle is over like I said. So if you have any questions leave it in the comments.
