Chapter 45

*First person pov*

We finally made it to the temple. We were interrogating some survivors. "Okay... so where's Chiriku?" Asuma asks them. "Unfortunately, his body is the only one we haven't found." The guy tells us. "Uh... Asuma-taichou?" Izumo asks, he was looking in some kind of booklet. "I'm not sure how to put this, but... underground organization put a 30 million ryo bounty on Chiriku-san's head. Akatsuki must be..." Izumo trails off. I whistle. "That's a lot of money, what could have Chiriku done to that big of a bounty on his head?" I snicker. Asuma glares at me and I shut up. Keiko bonks my head. "You idiot! That was rude!" Keiko hisses. "You're rude too! I raised you!" I shout as I hold my head. "Oh my god you're right! You DID raise me! My poor soul!" She shouts as she gets a handkerchief out and wipes her eyes. "Hey! I was a good parent!" I shout, my hands on my hips. "But a bad example!" Keiko shouts. We glare each other down, sparks flying. "Hey, focus!" Shikamaru growls and we jump. Our heads were hung and we mumble a sorry. Shikamaru turns to Izumo. "An exchange point.... They must be bringing the body along with them." Shikamaru suggests. "Izumo, where are those exchange points?" Kotetsu asks. Izumo flips through the pages. "There are five, including the one closest one to us." Izumo tells us. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get the tweetie birds out and send them to the other teams that are closest to the other collection offices." I say. Everyone nods and Kotetsu got out a scroll. He summons bird cages through them. We write reports and place them in the bird carriers. Geez.... People did this in the old days? I wish they had cell phones.... it would be so easy to just text them... I finish writing my and placed them in the carriers. We let the birds go and they go in seperate directions. "The four teams closest to the other places should get these soon." Izumo says, observing the birds. "Good! Let's get going too!" Asuma announces. The older survivor steps up. "Just a moment, Asuma-dono." The man calls. Asuma turns around to see what he has to say. "If you're about to head into battle, please allow us to say a brief prayer for you." The old man says. Asuma smiles and said we were going to stick around so he can do so. He pressed his hands together and started a prayer. After he finished, we thanked the old man. "That waistband... you're like Chiriku. Anybody from the 'twelve shinobi guardsmen' has a bounty on their heads. Please take care." The guy tells Asuma. "Don't worry, my head's worth 5 million more than Chiriku!" Asuma says smiling, while holding out his hand to show five. "That's more the reason why we would should worry about you..." Keiko mumbles. Asuma heard it so he turned to her. "Yeah, but they won't get it without a hell of a fight!" Asuma announces. "Yeah, sure. Let's go to that collection office." I say as I start walking and they follow.

Time skip~

We made it to the collection office. I see a familiar jashinist sitting on the steps, sniffing himself. "Urrgh!!! I spent 5 minutes in that shithole and my clothes still reek." Hidan complains to himself. I see Asuma silently drop down from the building we were standing on and sneak behind Hidan. Apparently, Asuma made noise so Hidan turned around, thinking it was the old man. "Finally, it took you long en-" Hidan cut himself off when Asuma threw shurikens at him. Hidan pulls out his scythe and that long metal rope thing detaches and he it uses to block all the shurikens. The shurikens plants itself on the ground and Hidan smirks. His scythe blade came down on Asuma, but Asuma narrowly dodges it and jumps away. Izumo and Kotetsu came around to stab Hidan with their swords and Hidan tries to get away but Shikamaru uses shadow copy jutsu, to keep Hidan in place. "Too late." Shikamaru informs Hidan as he gets stabbed. "One down." Keiko breathes. There was a silence. "...That hurt, dammit. What's your problem?"
