Light.

His lips curled up into a smile. He could finally sense the tingling warmth of light creeping up at him, gently carressing his face. The light felt foreign but recognizable to him as he relished himself in it.

White seeped into his vision. Slowly he began to see shapes and colors, painting his irises with all kinds of graphics he thought he had lost. He felt blessed and glad, happy that his visions had finally came back to where it once belonged.
He glanced around. Various colors and types of tulips surrounded him in a garden of beauty and fascination. He didn't know how long had it been since he last had his ability to see and he missed it very much.

He could finally watch his beloved humans, calling them out to worship him once again as their God. He laughed, menacing but joyful as he laid in the field of tulips. His chest felt light and his head was no longer in pain; heart pounding in a normal rate, perhaps a little fast but he was thrilled of having his eyesight back.

Thrilled of seeing that particular protozoan whom he hated so much with passion.

Deliberately he got up into a sitting position, scanning around only to spot said man just few feet away from him.

He blinked.

Once, twice; but the blond monster was still there, standing boldly, smiling at him with a glint of friendship and warmth in his eyes.

Friendship? No, that's very wrong. The only relationship remained between them would be pure hatred, not more or less than that.

Though somehow, a familiar feeling of being at home and safe crept up his spine, replacing the fears and worries binded in his chest.

"Izaya,"

He heard his soft but husky voice calling out, alluring him towards him. There wasn't even the slightest hint of abhorrence spotted in his speech but Izaya found himself perfectly fine with it.
Slowly he began approaching him. He didn't even notice the jubilant grin pasted on his lips as he started his way towards the taller male.

As soon as his hand reached out to feel the other's warm skin, he felt the world around him shattering apart. Pieces of the world imploded, taking away his magnificent field of vision and replacing it with the old darkness he once recognized.

His eyes widened, terrified of the monster that had begun its way of consuming him yet again. He tried to yell loudly as his fragile figure fell to the ground, body shaking as his nightmare returned.

---

"NO!!"

His figure springed upwards, eyes widening in horror as he struggled to breathe. Cold sweat trickled down his forehead as he gasped for air, lung pressing tightly and painfully against his ribs.

"Izaya, are you okay?"

A gentle voice reached his ears. The voice sounded all too familiar to him, but he still had the urge to ask who was it just to be cautious. The blindness had totally decreased his ability to recognize certain people's voice but not his senses.

They say when one of your senses aren't working, the other senses will become more sensitive; Izaya had no objection to that at all.

"Who is this?"

There was a pause before the voice spoke again, "You can't remember me, louse?"

Okay, that's definitely his arch-nemesis, Heiwajima Shizuo.

"I'm making sure, you protozoan. Didn't the doctor tell you anything about my blindness? Heh, I assume you're here to make fun of me," He replied in a mocking tone, faking a chuckle as a cough escaped his lips, immediately covering his mouth to hide it from him.

The blond was the last person he wanted to meet at the moment.

And why was he here anyway?

"Cut the crap, flea. What the hell happened back there? Were you on suicide?"

Shizu-chan is too honest and straightforward sometimes it's nauseating; just like an innocent kid.

Izaya groaned, trying his best to run away from the question. He didn't even want to think about what really happened, let alone recalling the whole incident.

"...it's none of your business,"

"Like hell it's none of my business. You were on my doorstep when you collapsed, mumbling something about 'goodbye' and 'I'm sorry'," Shizuo replied, his voice stern but calm before continuing, "There's also a note crumpled up in your hand but by the time I went to read it, blood had already stained most part of it. What did you write anyway?"

The raven bit his own lips, clutching his head as a migraine came flooding him. This is why he hated the man; always going as far to asking him multiple questions at a time without considering how his current state was.

"I...can't remember..."

He murmured a reply before hearing a defeated sigh coming from the blond's lips.

"The doctor said you have slight amnesia, so there's really nothing I can do, right?" He paused before speaking again, "I'm sorry I forced you. Are you okay? Why were you screaming?"

Izaya's eyes narrowed, eyebrows furrowing in confusion. This isn't the Shizu-chan he knew! Why would Shizuo be worried of his own enemy? Did his single-celled brain hit something throughout his two weeks of unconsciousness?

"Flea?"

Shizuo waited for a reply before earning a disapproving look from the raven.

"Stop acting like we're friends, Shizu-chan,"
