His eyes shot open but only darkness surrounded him, consuming him to an endless world.
His heart raced in panic, yet his mind remained calm as he frantically searching for a way out. His feet shuffled along the vast space, eyes wandering about.
He knew he wasn't blind in this world. It was the world playing illusions of darkness in his mind so he only needed to find that source of light to prove his eyesight.
To prove that he could still see.
"Clang—"
His head spun towards the direction of the sound and an image came flooded through his mind.
His eyes bulged upon seeing the image, shocked as to see what's plattered right in front of him.
He recognized that sight, that voice.
It was his.
His own voice.
Slowly he stepped forward but turned to a halt upon hearing the words spoken from that familiar sinful lips of his—
"Shizu-chan, I'm finally dying. Isn't that nice for you?"
He stepped closer towards the figure, attempting to see the image better. Image? No, this sounded too real and familiar to become an image.
It's most likely the deepest part of his memories being replayed.
"Nee would you be happy if I vanish from this world? Of course you would, wouldn't you? I'm finally fulfilling your wish, Shizu-chan. You should thank me,"
A grunt was heard as a glint of silver was caught between his vision, followed by the dripping sound of something flowing onto the floor.
He squinted his eyes in the dark, trying to get a better view of what was happening.
Again, the voice spoke;
"Haha, I doubt Shizu-chan would even care about me. You'd always wanted me dead ever since you laid your eyes on me, right?"
Another cut, bigger this time and more blood dripped down his thin wrist. Now that Izaya was near the figure, he could finally see the image clearly.
It was the reflection of his own figure, only distorted and hurtful than his current state. His wrists were bleeding, his neck tortured with various types of cuts and burns, his flesh purple and paler than usual while his eyes stared into the bottles of alcohols and pills on the coffee table in front of him.
The stare was hopeless and empty, reflecting his current soul through the crimson orbs that hung full of sins despite the sad smirk carved on his face.
"I'll see you soon, Shizu-chan,"
---
"Ah—"
His head spun around to see anything but darkness had once again consumed him.
Reality.
A world he currently hated.
He tried to calm his current mind. Inhale, exhale…inhale, exhale; finally he managed to calm down.
He knew it was currently midnight as no sound was heard throughout the hallway. He could also heard the small sounds of crickets in the night from outside the window.
Slowly he returned back to lay his shaking self against the hospital bed, shutting his eyes once again.
He decided what he just experienced was only a nightmare.
And not a type of replays of his lost memories.
Never thought that this story would actually reach almost up to 300 viewers in the nick of time *-* thank you for your support! I'm currently in a hiatus mode but I'll try to update ASAP once I'm home ☆
