"Is Mr. Heiwajima here?"

The middle-aged doctor looked slightly disheveled with his messy black hair and distorted clothes that served as a result from a heavy surgery. He wiped the slight perspiration on his forehead, repositioning his spectacles as he watched the two men to and fro, trying to get an answer from either one of them.

"I'm Heiwajima Shizuo," Shizuo took a step forward as he secretly made a hand gesture to Kasuka, signaling he'll take care of the things happening here on his own. "Is something wrong, doctor? Will he be okay?"

"We're still trying our best to save him, Sir. But he did mention your name just few seconds ago,"

"My name?" the blond raised an eyebrow. Even if Izaya did, he wouldn't be using his full name; it'd most likely be "Shizuo"- if he's nice enough to use it, that is.

The doctor nodded, taking him closer towards the door but stopped as soon as they reached it. Kasuka had already left the scene and headed to his destination, so there was only two of them outside it.

They peered inside, looking at the patient currently laying on the hospital bed. Izaya looked really pale and weak, his breath was shallow as the cardiac monitor showed a slow but regular sinus rhythm; signaling he was in an unconsciously stable state.

Deliberately the raven doctor took out a piece of a brainscan out from the file he was holding, handing it to the ex-bartender, who in turn frown deeper upon seeing the complicated results of the test.

"Mr. Orihara had a minor head concussion. It wasn't at all serious, but we do need to do constant observations on him. His wounds weren't that serious either, but there is a deep cut on his forehead. The blindness was still present, but it seemed that his memories had recover bit by bit, somehow,"

"Memories?" Shizuo furrowed his eyebrows, looking as curious as a kid can be upon hearing those words.

"Yes, he kept calling out your name-"

"Heiwajima?"

The doctor shook his head then explained;

"Something like 'Shizu-chan'; one of the nurses working knew about this nickname of yours, claiming she had seen Izaya calling you out that way before so instantly the thought clicked,"

Now that made sense.

"Are you somehow related to him?"

The question made Shizuo's heart jumped a little. The doctor must not be familiar with their fights before; judging by the way he dealt with both Izaya and him, the fortissimo of Ikebukuro. He couldn't really explain how their current relationship is, so the only option left was to say-

"Well, we're sort of besties before,"

He nodded in reply before returning back to looking beyond the small window;

"I see, supposedly that's good enough for him,"

The blond said nothing afterwards, only nodding his head in full acknowledge. He understood the situation Izaya was in, but he didn't dare saying anything about it.

With his lips sealed, he peered again at the figure beyond the room.

I'm sorry that this chapter is quite short, but I promise you that the next chapter would be longer~~
And Izaya's memories are finally coming back at him yayy \(^o^)/
