"Alright, Shiki-san~ I'll be done in two weeks time. Namie will send in some details on it later,"

The raven haired man spoke through the phone in his usual sing-song voice.

It was just an ordinary day in Shinjuku, where Izaya was pulling strings of his beloved humans here and there, gathering information for the sake of self-drunken pleasure when suddenly—

"Ah? Need anything?" Izaya questioned the man in front of him whom had just barged into his workplace acting as if it's his own home. His disheveled hair and appearance almost the same as Izaya's was instantly recognized by the raven who was still smiling, focusing himself on his current job.

"Orihara, I don't want to work for you anymore," Nakura responded with slight anger tinted in his voice.

"Oh? That's fine," Izaya waved his hand dismissively, "I can just tell the truth to the police later,"

"You bastard!" Said man was just about to launch himself to attack the raven when a hand grabbed his arm, stopping him in midactions.

"I'm sorry but it's a must," Mikage spoke in a silent threat.

Izaya only chuckled at that before looking up at her. "It's okay, Mikage-chan. He'll find his way out by himself,"

Nakura cursed under his breath before pulling himself out of the office.

"You'll see, Orihara. I'll make sure your life a living hell,"

---

A loud thud was heard as his body was tossed across the floor.

Izaya groaned, not in pain, but in annoyance yet he quickly replaced the discomfort with his usual facade despite his face being covered with a paper bag.

He heard whispers in the room as he continuosly tried to scan the surrounding even with the lack of eyesight. There were the distinctive sounds of rattlings heard but otherwise it was silence.

Finally the door closed shut but a figure remained in the room; Izaya could tell. He had a hunch on who the person would be but—

"Not so cocky now eh, Informant-san?"

"Nakura," He began, "You could've dropped it already. Not fun not fun~"

Izaya replied. Even though Nakura was adressing him with different type of formality, he had sharp ears that could detect the man's voice in just an instant.

"Shut up!" A kick landed on his stomach but Izaya masked it with a chuckle.

"What is it, Nakura? Money, fame? Orihara Izaya can fulfill—!"

Another kick landed on his back followed by a stomp—

"Shut up shut up shut up SHUT THE FUCK UP!!" Nakura yelled in anger as he continuously kicked the raven sprawling on the floor, "You're in no position to say such things!"

"HahahaHAHAHAHA" Izaya's laugh was frantic despite himself almost suffocating in the paper bag when suddenly it was yanked away, the air pushing back into his system.

"You think this is funny?"

"Pretty much, yeah haha," Izaya responded, blood trickled down his chin as he rolled onto his back. The pain had slowly seeping into his fragile figure but he showed none of the emotions, the smirk still plastered firmly across his face.

"Tell me, Nakura. I took the blame for you. Was it too much for you to do anything for me?" He asked again, glancing at the man before throwing into another fitful laughter.

The memories of when he decided to mask the mishaps caused by Nakura were still fresh.

They were in high school. Shinra decided to open up a biology club, begging Izaya to be the Vice President which he finally agreed after much persuations. When Shinra wasn't around, he simply turned the club into a gambling ring in which Nakura was a member.

One day when Shinra and Izaya were having argumental issues on the club's usage, Nakura came in with a knife to claim his money lost in the previous gambling. Shinra was stabbed but Izaya took the blame.

In exchange, he blackmailed Nakura.

Izaya's smirk never disappeared from the pleasant memory despite his current state when suddenly something Nakura said caught his interest.

"Heiwajima was looking for you,"

"Ah? Shizu-chan?"

"He wanted you dead, didn't he?"

Izaya remained silent. His eyes glancing sideways as the oh-so-familiar sounds of metal scraping across a slick surface was heard. Nakura's hand held a knife. Almost the same position as his from the teenage years but definitely firmer;

"What if I kill you for him?"

Izaya's eyes widened before narrowing into slits again;

"Heh,"

The smirk never faltering as Nakura made his move.
