"Orihara-kun, what happened?! Shizuo said you had too much drugs and alcohol that you lost your eyesight, was it true? What kind of drugs did you have? Or was it the alcohol? Was the drug used in medical or-"

Izaya blindly threw a pillow towards the direction of that annoying voice. He recognized it the instant the man blabbered about his condition-

"Shut it, Shinra. It's the hospital, not your home,"

Slowly Shinra's mouth curled into a pout as Celty dragged him backwards, stumbling him a little as she typed something on her PDA for Shizuo to read then translate it to Izaya.

'What happened?' Was the question Celty used Shizuo as an alternative to ask.

The blind raven was getting tired of answering the same question repeatedly even though the only person who asked him before was the blonde monster. He disliked having to let people see his weakness, especially when it came to these people.

"Not much. I'm blind," he simply answered with a shrug, acting as if it wasn't such a big deal.

But to tell everyone the truth, his sarcastic level increased whenever a person asked something personal that resembled his weakness.

He always thought he was far better than all the humans he loved; at least until he lost his vision.

He still felt better, but not that almighty.

Shizuo's voice responded again, 'What did you hv that possibly could turn you this way?'

Izaya knew Celty was worried despite the bad deeds he had done to her before. He was almost moved by such heartwarming feeling but he ain't gonna let go of his pride yet.

"Ethambutol,"

"Ehhh," Now it's Shinra's turn to speak; "But ethambutol is harmless in a moderate amount! Did you really drug yourself that much until your optic nerve experienced glaucoma?"

"That's what the doctor said." He shrugged again, "Will it go away though? I'm tired of sitting in here all day long, looking at the darkness instead of the faces of my beloved humans,"

There was a long pause before the underground doctor finally answered, "Sadly, I couldn't remember any cure for it. Did the doctor say anything?"

He shook his head in reply, "I supposed there's none,"

'Didn't he experience memory loss as well?' was the reply typed on the female dullahan's PDA.

Of course, Izaya couldn't read nor hear her words, but when Shizuo replied, he could actually made out the question;

"Yeah, he did, but I'm not sure of the cause,"

"It was a post-traumatic syndrome,"

Izaya suddenly said, silencing the others all at once.

He continued;

"For some reason, I was traumatized over something that I still couldn't remember. I'm sure you get it, Shinra?"

Slowly he nodded in reply even though the informant couldn't see him. Shizuo was contemplated at first but decided to keep his mouth shut instead when Celty shoved her PDA in front of him again-

'Why do you think he was traumatized?'

The blonde shrugged, "God knows. He still can't remember a single thing,"

"Well then, if it's Shizuo taking care of someone else, I wouldn't be that worried," Shinra interrupted their conversation, continuing, "But the whole world knows that you guys hated each other. How would I believe that none of you was going to go after each other's throat?"

"Heh," Izaya heard the blonde snickered, "That damn flea is vulnerable right now he could barely eat by himself. Do you think someone like that would bring me any-" Instantly his hand caught the pillow thrown towards his way from the flustered but still permanently blind informant, and resumed his words; "Harm?"

He gave Shinra a sweet but sadistic smile. Izaya was totally angry and flustered with the way Shizuo said things, but he was right.

Izaya Orihara was indeed vulnerable and helpless. He wouldn't even know if a snake actually slithered across the room and into his hospital blanket.

Involuntarily he shivered at the thought.

Soon he heard Shinra's laugh as he patted Shizuo at the back, "Well then, we should get going too~ Get well soon, Izaya! Hopefully you'll recover your memories as soon as possible because I'd like to dig your secrets out,"

"Fuck you, Shinra," Izaya mumbled under his breath before hearing the door clicked.

"Celty said 'goodbye' and 'get well soon' to you," the blonde said, finally returning back to the blind flea.

"It's absurd to say things like that when the truth was they never cared,"

The words attracted Shizuo's attention. There was a sad frown hung on the raven's face, making Shizuo's heart died a little. Though instantly his masked grin returned, but looking rather sad in Shizuo's opinion;

"I wouldn't believe in those words. It's far too easy to say without you really mean it, Shizu-chan. That's why humans are pathetic little creatures; roaming around the earth spreading false love and care. Indecent, eh?"

His grin twisted into a smirk. As much as the blonde's finger itched to punch that beautiful face, he fully understood what he meant.

And even if he knew Shinra and Celty from the outside, no one will ever know what really happens on the inside.

He decided to keep his mouth shut, saying he needed a smoke outside before walking out of the door, leaving the informant alone again on the cold hospital bed, staring into midspace yet again.

Is it too slow? Tell me if it is ;w; I love narrative writing cuz it's fun to use different choices of words but tell me if it's too slow and less interesting OTL
