"Jingle bells jingle bells,
Jingle all the way~"

Shizuo awoke to see the group of choirs singing in the hospital. He didn't know that the choirs would sing in such a place; wouldn't it be noisy for the patients though?

Nevertheless he got up, observing the group from afar. He didn't remember it being Christmas the last time he woke up. It wasn't even December yet as far as he could remember but perhaps since he was too caught up with the whole things happening around the raven, he decided maybe it was Christmas after all.

He figured he should call Kasuka and tell him that he might not be celebrating the annual celebration with him this year but as he searched around for his phone, he couldn't find it anywhere. He sighed and let it slip, thinking of just borrowing the desk's telephone later to call.

"Heiwajima-san?"

Shizuo deliberately turned around to look at the nurse from yesterday. His memories still fresh from what happened earlier that morning but he gave her a warm smile, indicating he was in a nice mood.

"Orihara-san is awake,"

The news shocked the blond instantly, his smile faltering as his face drained in color. He had been waiting for this day to arrive, yet didn't really know how to respond.

Mixed feelings towards the man slowly inched their way into his heart as it throbbed in pain. He didn't know if he'd feel happy upon seeing the man's face; would he still hate him? What would Izaya feel? Would the accident from few days ago made him forget his memories again?

He just hoped that he was recovering despite their current complicated relationships.

"He had just woken up so please don't force him into difficult things especially asking him to retrieve his past memories," The nurse spoke with a small smile. Shizuo found it pleasant even though her eyes bore slight fear but he replied the smile and went into the wardroom.

His visions instantly caught on the image of the weak and blinded raven sitting on the bed, only currently...he was looking at the blond's direction with a small smirk.

"Shizu-chan! What brings you here? I just got hit with one of your destructive items but you came here to look after me? How considerate of you!" Izaya started to chirp happily upon seeing the blond when everything started to click in Shizuo's head.

Ah, this is a dream. Izaya could see, and he was only here from their fights. Not because of being drugged or doing alcohol abuse to his own self.

Shizuo smiled a little before stalking closer to the informant. He longed to see the man in this state again, albeit a little annoying and pathetic, he must admit that this flea was certainly better.

"Ah? Shizu-chan-"

Shizuo leaned closer to brush his lips against the lithe male's. Izaya's eyes widened in disbelief at the brute's behavior as he felt the soft lips brushing against his. It felt warm and soothing as butterflies fluttered in his stomach, sending him shivers at how soft the monster's lips could be.

And how pleasant the kiss felt on his being.

His mind still in shock when suddenly Shizuo's lips left his, the warmth dissipating as well as crimson orbs stared up at the smiling face.

"Glad to see you doing fine, flea," Shizuo spoke in a tone of sheer delight.

Izaya blushed a little as he looked away, "Stupid brute..." He heard himself mumbling before feeling a hand softly carressing his pale cheek.

He deliberately turned to look at the blond with the pink hue still dusting his cheeks in slight embarassment.

"I was really scared you'd die, 'Zaya-kun,"

"Idiot, I'm indestructible, you protozoan," The raven chuckled playfully before he pulled the other into a tight embrace.

"I miss you, Shizu-chan. Wake me up soon,"

"I will,"

Shizuo replied before claiming the soft pink lips again. The kiss was full with emotions, remorse and faith in order to bring the raven back to reality.

Tears threatened to fall from the blond's eyes but that was when lights seeped into his vision.

---

Shizuo woke up in a dazed state with nobody singing jingle bells, which indicating that he was indeed not in the festive seasons and that he had finally returned to the reality.

He languidly moved to a more comfortable position on the cold hospital seats, wincing when his back ached in pain.

He had been sleeping since that Aka-Akaba-whatever the man's name left the hospital. It was already 8 in the morning so he decided to get up and went to the restroom to wash his face. His hair was disheveled and his facial features screamed nothing but tiredness as he looked at the reflection in the mirror.

He quickly did a facewash before heading back out to the hall and enquired whether it was okay to go into Izaya's wardroom. The clerk said it wasn't okay to visit him until 3 in the evening considering he's currently in the ICU. But the doctor whom on care of Izaya allowed the blond to have a look on the raven. He had seen him lurking around to look after Izaya so might as well give him the access since he's asking so politely.

Shizuo thanked them both before heading straight towards Izaya's wardroom. He pushed the door open before slowly entering the room.

The raven was still sleeping peacefully in the bed. His face showing no sign of bliss nor exasperation or sadness, which made the blond wondered if Izaya had experienced the same dream as his.

His hand reached out to feel the raven's soft black hair before slowly speaking his thoughts out, "Hey, Izaya. I saw you in my dream last night,"

Of course, no replies were heard but Shizuo continued speaking as if the shorter male could hear everything, "You were really annoying, like your old self," Shizuo chuckled a little, "But you looked-"

He stopped in his midtrain of thoughts. He didn't know if he should voice it out; it might just be things messing up in his head with all the pressure building up, but...he couldn't deny it no more.

He loved Orihara Izaya.

He wouldn't know what the raven would say if he ever spoke the words out to him in real life. But with the slight courage he had within him, he finally confessed ro himself that he was indeed, in love with the man he claimed to hate just few weeks ago. The whole event had changed his perspective to the flea 360° and he was more than happy to welcome it in his life.

His heart desired to love the man lying unconscious in front of him; his hands itching to hold him close to him all the time; his arms wanting to lock the raven forever in protection while his lips yearned to kiss those soft lips again.

Shizuo leaned closer, his lips inches apart from Izaya's as he murmured,

"-beautiful,"
