Luke was glad the bakery wasn't busy today. He had to sit down frequently due to his nausea as he drank through multiple bottles of water. Lots of trips to the bathroom began to annoy him.

Pregnancy was hitting him hard.

The last couple mornings, he had woken up with morning sickness, vommitting into the toilet. He hated the feeling of it and wanted it to just go away. Letting a miracle grow inside of your stomach comes with prices to pay.

Mrs. VanBüns checked on him multiple times, not wanting the tired boy to be bustling about in the kitchen so he could relax in a chair she brought just for him. It was cushioned so it felt nice on his back and it rolled so he could easily get around the shop.

The bell above the entrance jingled, causing Luke to look up. He immediately smiled, seeing Michael walk in. "Good afternoon, Michael. Nice seeing you here."
The boy smiled brightly, quite excited to see Luke here. "Nice seeing you too. Hey, can I get that Lemon cupcake down there?"
Luke automatically grabbed a small square of wax paper, grabbing the dainty cupcake out of the tray and placed it into a small box.
"Oh I would like to eat that here, please."

Luke looked up, raising an eyebrow. "We don't have any eat-in tables. You just come and go." Michael blushed, his cheeks turning a light pink. "Well, I was sort of hoping I could talk to you."

Luke felt like his day was starting to brighten up. "Let me ask my boss, quick." The blonde boy rushed into the back, seeing the old woman taking a tray of cookies out of the oven. "Evelyn!"
Mrs. VanBüns head snapped up, not used to hearing her first name being called by Luke unless it's an urgent situation. "What is it dear? Is something wrong with the baby?"

Luke shook his head, a large smile plastered on his face. "That boy I talked to you about. Michael?"
Evelyn nodded her head, smiling sweetly. "I remember you talking about this boy with purple hair. What about him?"
The small pregnant boy turned a shade of pink, looking down at his shoes. "He is here and wants to talk over cupcakes with me." Mrs. VanBüns started to push Luke back to the front counter of the bakery.
"Of course, darling. Go talk to him! Maybe something good will come out of this!"

'I'm pretty sure it will,' Luke thought. He thanked his boss and headed to the front, smiling at Michael who already ate half of his cupcake.

Dear Baby,

You sure give me a hard time. I've been waking up sick every morning this week. It's hard enough with all these weird food cravings I have in the middle of the night. You little shit, gosh I love you.
Guess who stopped by the bakery this week? You guessed it. It was Michael. We talked for hours, ending up having Grandpa and Grandma kick us out so they could lock up. I have his number as well and I'm feeling pretty nice around him. Who knows. Maybe he is the one I need.

I love you, baby bean.
