"Yes Michael-I'm heading to the grocery store now." Luke spoke into the phone as he got his shoes on.
He was heading to the store for some groceries. Michael had some pals from work come over and they nearly ate everything in the cupboards. His friends were very sweet though. To be honest, Luke favored his friend Tom over all the others. Tom was only sixteen and was a small little thing. Luke adored his chubby cheeks and small height. The blonde towered over Tom with his height of 6'2". Michael said it kind of intimidated the small kid.
"While you're there, can you pick up some cream cheese? I've got left over bagels from the breakfast our boss brought in." Michael replied, holding the phone in between his shoulder and ear as he poured himself a cup of coffee.
"You know, you can just call him Robert. I've met all of your buddies now so you can call them by name." Luke chuckled as he grabbed the apartment keys and head out. He fumbled with the keys for a bit but after he closed the door, he locked it. He looked down at his stomach and groaned."What's the matter, babe? Can't get your shoes on again?" Michael laughed, walking back to his desk with his black coffee. If Michael were beside Luke, he would smack him, give him a death glare or both. Sadly, he was in an office building across town. "I can't see my legs anymore. My stomach is so huge and swollen. It barely fits in the sweatshirt I'm wearing."
Michael smiled. "That means our babies are growing and are healthy. I'll like your stomach no matter what size it is." Luke blushed as he walked into the elevator. "Shut up. You're just saying that to make me feel better."
"It's working, isn't it?" Luke burst out laughing. "Michael! How rude!"
"Sorry baby. Just making a joke. I love you okay? Don't forget some medication for those migraines you get all the time."
The elevator doors shut and Luke pressed the ground level button. "I love you too."
Before Michael could hang up, the lights in the elevator flickered out. Luke groaned. "Stupid, old elevator. The lights went out."Michael felt a worried sensation run through his brain. "You okay? Is the elevator moving?" Luke sighed. "Unfortunately not. I would like to get finished with grocery shopping as quickly as possible or at least before I run out of motivation." All of a sudden, the elevator jerked a bit but stopped. Luke stumbled and grabbed onto the railing for support.
"Well it just moved a little bit. Michael, what if it falls all the way to ground level?" Michael rushed back to his desk, grabbing the office phone. He needed to be prepared if he had to call the authorities. "It won't kill you I know that. We are on level two." Luke took a shaky breath and spoke into the phone quickly. "I want to know if it will kill my baby girls." Michael paused for a moment. "I d-don't know. Press the emergency button and I will call 911. "
Luke fumbled with his flip phone and tried to shine the light on the keypad. "I can't see shit with this crap phone." Luke heard a snap. "Oh no..." The elevator fell to ground level, Luke being knocked out by hitting his head on the handle bar he was holding onto. Sirens blared in the distance as Michael screamed through the phone.

Luke slowly opened his eyes, the hospital lights blinding him. He heard the beeps of all the machines around him but at the moment, he didn't really care where he was. He had a killer migraine and wanted some pills for it.
He turned his head slowly and saw the button that called a nurse. He pressed it and the red light turned on. He looked up and saw Michael with his head in his hands. Luke smiled and poked his hand. Michael sprung up, smiling when he saw his boyfriend was finally awake. He scooted closer to Luke, holding the blonde's hand in his.
"How are you feeling?" Luke chuckled weakly. "To be honest, this migraine is a total bitch right now. How long was I out?" Michael looked up at the clock above Luke's bed. "About five hours and forty-five minutes. We haven't had any news on the babies yet but they started running tests an hour ago."
The door clicked and in came a small nurse, with s clipboard. She seemed shy as she slowly approached the couple. Her brunette hair was up in a messy ponytail and she had purple bags under her eyes. She looked like she had been up for days. "I have news on the babies."
Michael sat up and gave her his full attention while holding Luke's hand. The nurse looked up and noticed Luke was awake. "Oh, he's awake! I have to go call the head nurse-" Michael stopped her by saying, "Wait! Can we hear about the babies?" The nurse hesitated but asked to give her a moment. She stuck her head out of the door and stopped a nurse passing by. After some muffled words were exchanged, she closed the door and came back in.
"I have someone to go get her for me so I can tell you about the babies. None of them are dead or have life-threatening injuries. Baby A, is doing alright, just a little stunned. Baby B might kick a lot. She didn't like the large disturbance and Baby C-"
"Wait a second, those might not be the right forms. We only have two babies on the way." The nurse looked at Michael strangely. "You two are Luke Robert Hemmings and Michael Gordon Clifford, correct?"
Michael and Luke hesitantly nodded.
"Well it says here, that you have triplets."
