Lucy's POV

As I walked into the guild, I noticed that some of my guild mates looked up and laughed. Others didn't even bother. I didn't really care. It was obvious how they all felt. I shuffled to the bar and sat down at my usual spot. Mira came over and handed me a strawberry smoothie. She offered a kind smile and walked away. She was one of the only ones who still talked to me...

Two weeks ago...

"Morning Mira!" I called from across the guild hall.

"Hey Lucy! The usual today?"

"You know me too well."

I sat down at my usual spot and observed the guild that I loved so much. Cana was drinking her booze by the barrel, Levy was reading a book, and half clothed Gray was battling Natsu again.

"Will those two ever learn?" I chuckled to myself.

The guild doors opened and in walked Lisanna Straus.

"Great" I moaned, as Mira set down my strawberry smoothie on the bar next to me.

Lisanna must have seen my irritated face, because she came right over and sat down beside me.

"Good morning Lucy." She said, in an all to courteous tone.

"Hi Lisanna." I replied, gritting my teeth, trying to hide the annoyance in my voice.

"Oh, that look on your face, Natsu must have told you. I'm sooo sorry Lucy." She sneered.

"Told me what?"

"Oh, he hasn't spoken to you yet? Whoops. Didn't mean to let that slide. Well, you'll find out sooner or later I guess. Have a nice day Lucy!" With a fake smile and an arrogant wave, she hopped of the bar stool, grabbed my smoothie and walked away.

I sighed and started wondering what Lisanna was talking about. Maybe it was about a job. He wanted more of the cut? No probably not. He didn't want to eat together anymore? Honestly he's kinda a messy eater so I don't think I would mind... Or maybe...

Mira interrupted my thoughts by setting down a new strawberry smoothie.

"Don't read into it to much. It's just Lisanna acting out. I'm sure everything is fine."

"Yah. Your probably right. Thanks Mira." I said, and with that I began to enjoy my smoothie.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just as I put my second empty smoothie glass on the bar, Natsu walked over to me.
"Hey Natsu."
"Hey Luce! So now that Lisanna's back she needs a team, so she is going to be joining us..."
Oh, that's all? Okay, I'm sure I can learn to play nice. Wait. Our team is full... Then who is he gonna get rid of to...
I felt the blood drain from my face.
" ...so your no longer on team Natsu because your weak and Lisanna is much stronger..."
I didn't here much after that. I looked over to the rest of the team. Erza looked away from my gaze and Gray shot me an apologetic, "I'm sorry."
I nodded showing that I understood. I looked over to Happy, who had his ears folded and was silently crying.
Wendy stood in the corner fuming, and directing her hateful gaze at Natsu.
At least I would be missed.
I looked over to were Lisanna was standing, watching the whole thing unfold. She smirked and made a pouty face at me.
Why that little...
"... So I'll see you around Luce!"
I snapped back to reality as Natsu walked away. As I looked up, I realized that the entire guild had seen my removal from Team Natsu. Slowly, everyone started whispering, shooting me the occasional glance. I couldn't take it. As I felt the tears well up in my eyes, I ran out of the guild hall.
That jerk. He never thinks. He's so ignorant. How could he possibly think his actions wouldn't affect me? That they wouldn't hurt me?
As the tears started slowing, so did my pace. I hadn't realized it but I was headed to the park. I shrugged and kept walking. At this point I didn't care where I ended up.
As I made my way into the park, I looked around for the most comfortable tree I could find, and finally settled into the roots of a large magnolia tree. I pulled my knees to my chest and began to cry even harder than I had before.
"Hey, it's gonna be okay." A familiar masculine voice said.
A warm, strong hug encircled me. I didn't have to look up to know who it was.
"Gray, what are you doing here?" I sobbed, my breath hitching.
"I saw you crying as you left the guild. I couldn't let you be alone and upset."
I sniffled and wiped away my tears. Standing up, I brushed myself off and took a deep breath.
"You okay?" He asked
I nodded.
"Will you walk me home?" I asked in a shaky voice.
"Sure."
Gray walked me back to my apartment where we said our goodbyes. I went up to my room and changed into my pajamas, even though it was still midafternoon. For the first time in a while, I went around and locked all my doors and windows.
He is never coming in here again.
And with that final thought, I closed the curtains, shut off the lights, climbed in bed, and drifted off to sleep.
