Griffon's POV

"Sure my hair has gotten longer, but I can't look that different, right?" Lucy asked.

"L-Lucy?" I stuttered.

She smiled and hugged me.

"So you do remember me." She giggled.

"Y-you left me. Where d-did you go? And w-why didn't you say g-goodbye?" I asked.

"Griffon your stuttering again." Lucy said, once again ignoring my questions.

"I-I'm just surprised to see you. You leave without saying goodbye, and then two years later, you show up out of nowhere! You didn't visit or write, you gave me no signs that you were okay!" I yelled.

Lucy smiled a sad smile.

"I'm sorry Griffon. Please let me explain?"

I nodded my head in response. She took a breath before she began.

"You don't know this, but in the forbidden east tower, there is a portal to the Realm of the Humans. When we brought you here, you came through that portal. The night I left, the portal turned blue..."

I felt my eyes widen in concern. She walked to my bed and sat down, motioning for me to take the place beside her.

"... The changing portal was a summons from Ms. Tempestatis. She is from the Realm of the Heavens. One of the many special things about her Realm, is that no one can come or go, without the Queen's say so. When the portal turned blue, I had to leave immediately. I wanted to say goodbye but there wasn't any time. I couldn't even pack my things..."

"But all of your stuff was gone the next morning." I said, confused.

"I had instructed Virgo to gather my stuff, after I had made it through the portal." She explained.

"Oh" was all I could say.

"I was gone for two years, studying God Slaying Magic. Because of the rule with the portal, I couldn't get letters through to you. It would require opening the portal to the Realm of the Dragons, and the Queen said she couldn't risk it. In fact, the only reason I was allowed to train there, was because the Queen, and my late mother were friends. Ms. Tempestatis is friends with Ignis, Oceanum, and Stellae, so with the Queen's permission, she agreed to train me. I'm sorry Griffon." She said, hanging her head.

"Why did you play all those mind games with me today? Why didn't you just tell me it was you?" I asked, tears coming to my eyes.

"Well my teacher was with me, so I couldn't just come out and explain everything to you like I just did, it would break a lot of rules. In fact I'll probably get in trouble for telling you all of this. And honestly Griffon, you seemed so different, I just wanted to make sure it was really you." She said, smiling and sticking her tongue out.

"I mean come on! You've gotten taller and you've built some muscle. Not to mention the magical energy coming off you is way stronger than when I left!" She said, punching my arm playfully.

I laughed a little and we talked until the sun began to come up.

"So Griffon, we're gonna spar tomorrow, right?" She asked, raising her eye brow and giving me a mischievous smile.

"Why of corse, m'lady." I said, doing a little bow.

She giggled and stood up.

"I look forward to it." She waved and left my room.

I crawled into bed and just as I was about to fall asleep...

Goodnight Lucy.

"Goodnight, Griffon."
