Natsu's POV
I walked into the guild hall with Erza, Gray, Wendy, Happy, and Lisanna. We had just finished a pretty big job and there was enough jewel left to pay Lucy's rent. As I walked to the bar, I saw Mira and Gramps looking concerned while whispering to one another.
"Hey Mira! Do you know where Lucy is? I've got a bunch of jewel left over from the last mission we went on. I figured I would put it towards her rent.
Mira and Gramps looked at me with worried faces.
"Lucy went on a job. She was supposed to kill a bunch of monsters..." Gramps said.
"...That was four days ago."
I felt my stomach drop.
"She'll be fine. Lucy may be a weak mage, but she can push through anything." I said, trying to convince myself.
"You idiot! She went out there to prove that she is a capable wizard! The rent was just a bonus. When you kicked her off Team Natsu and questioned her ability as a mage, the whole guild started shunning her! If anything happens to her, it's on your head!" Mira screamed.
I sat down on the floor.
She went out there... Because of me?
The guild doors slammed open and a cloaked man walked in, looking around. He spotted Gramps and walked to his seat on the bar. The man whispered something in his ear and I could see the color drain out of Gramps' face. He nodded to the man and the man walked out if the guild again.
Gramps stood up on the bar and addressed the whole guild.
"My children, there has been a horrible accident." he said, with a shaky voice.
The cloaked man returned, this time wheeling with him, a large box.
A box? What's in it? Presents maybe? Oh, oh, I bet it's food!
Suddenly, I smelt a familiar sweet scent. It smelled like Lucy mixed with...
...Blood?
I looked at the box again, and realized that it wasn't a box. It was a coffin, and Lucy was the one inside of it.
