Chapter 14

Lucy's POV

I walked down the street, making sure no one was following me. I suddenly heard pounding footsteps like someone was running towards me.

Keep calm. It's probably someone running to catch up with one of their friends. Just keep walking.

I continued walking at a normal speed and casually pulled the hood of my cloak up over my head to hide my hair and facial features.

I can't risk someone almost recognizing me like Gray. That was to close.

"Hey! Hey wait up!"

I recognized the voice instantly as Gray's.

Just keep walking. Act like you didn't here him.

"Wait up! Lucy wait!"

Without thinking I took off running. Before long, I ended up in the one place I hated most. The Fairytail guild. I ran around the back of the building and dropped a portal lacrima on the ground. I stomped on it, crushing it beneath my feet, causing a portal to open to the Realm of Dragons. Just as I saw Gray round the corner, I dropped one last lacrima on the ground and entered through the portal, causing it to close. I collapsed on the crystal tower's floor, trying to catch my breath.

That was way to close. He figured out who I was. I just hope he gets my message.

I stood up and removed the amulet around my neck. As soon as I took it off, I felt another tingling sensation, before a strand of my now blonde hair, fell into my face. I walked back to my room on the other side of the palace. Once I got back to my large chambers, I walked into my closet and changed into my pajamas. As soon as I exited the closet, I ran to my large round bed, jumped, and face planted. I had never been so happy to be back home. I crawled under the covers and within a few minutes I was fast asleep.
