Chapter Twelve - Lime Light

'Call a cab and ask to be taken to Lime Light for 10 p.m., there is money on your dresser. Yes, you will be alone with a stranger but you'll be okay. Wear this and meet me by the smoke machines. - Raven'

Is what the note on my nightstand read. I laughed at the last part, but what I didn't laugh at was the note itself.

Is he fucking crazy? The hell if I'm getting into a cab.

Beneath the note was a blue summer dress. It was very girly and sweet looking. Definitely not something I'd wear and I will never take a boy's fashion advice seriously.

So I did what I knew wouldn't fail.

I called Melissa.

"Lime Light?! He thought you'd wear this to Lime Light?" She held the dress up, examining it with disgust. "No no no, this would be embarrassing to wear around those other girls.

"Melissa, what is Lime Light?" I interrupted her ranting.

"Lime Light is a club in the city, and if you want to get in underage, you sure as hell cannot dress like a twelve year old."

"So what do I wear?" I felt a little unsure of this. I don't want to get busted for illegally being in a club.

"Let me take care of this."

I hate being her doll. "Only if you do something for me." I say it that way because allowing her to dress me, is more for her own joy. "You have to come with me."

"I thought your phone call was an invitation." She laughed and grabbed my hand.

"Your closet will not be useful for this."

Melissa's apartment was in worse condition than I had expected. It was almost like a little shack in the sky.

The tiles on the floor were chipping into smaller pieces and becoming crumby. For some reason, tile covered the entire apartment. There was no carpet, and were there was no tile, it was just dirty looking wood.

The place smelled musty and she explained that the neighbors above her flooded their apartment, and the water seeped into her ceiling. That explains all the rotting brown stains above us.

I highly doubt this place is even up to safety codes.

Her bed was just an air mattress on the floor and the only nice thing in her bedroom was the walk in closet. At least her clothes were in a clean place. The closet looked freshly redone.

She suspects that maybe someone was murdered in there and so they had to redo it.

I'm not really sure how that eases her mind about sleeping in this place.

"Alright, so I think that for Lime Light, a dress would be your best option." Melissa and I looked through her rack of dresses. There was a ton of them.

"I can deal with that."

"But it has to be sexy." She smirked.

"Not too sexy though, this is Brett we're talking about."

"Well it's his fault he picked such a racy club."

My eyes landed on a black body-con dress. I was immediately attracted to it, and I don't know why but it's way more revealing than I'd ever wear.

"You have a good eye." Melissa pulled the dress of the hanger and pushed it into my arms. "Try it on, it was always a bit too long on me. It should fit your height perfectly."
