Lucy's POV
The Boomtown Rats said it right when they sang "I don't like Mondays" I think to myself as i leave my office and walk down to my lovely new black Golf. Not bad for a 20 year old is it. My own car which I paid for myself. A lovely apartment in a nice area of Manchester and a job I enjoy most of the time. Today not been that time. Every Monday for the past two months I head out to Angelo's a lovely Italian restaurant in Cheshire that should be the busiest place in the world to meet the most annoying man you'll ever meet who thinks everything I say is wrong. I work for a marketing firm in the city. I do everything for advertising hotels, restaurants and people. It's a tough job. It's not like I kick a football around a pitch for thousands of pounds. Its real hard work I always say to my roommate Tina.
"Two thirty on the dot" I say out loud in a bad Italian accent copying Mr. Angelo. The same time every week. The same jokes and the same looks. As I park my car I notice how busy the area is. A lot of footballers live in the area so there are always lots of fancy cars and not so fancy girls around. Even at this time of the day. The good thing about been here is that I get a free lunch and I get to see Tina who spends most of her time with her boyfriend around here.
I fix my black skirt as walk into to the restaurant. Not too long but long enough to stop Mr. Angelo from trying to look up my skirt as he always does. I hate men who think they are God's gift to women.
"Ciao Mr. Angelo" as I hold out my hand. "My favourite little girl" he says whilst kissing my hand. "Let's sit" I suggest. The sooner we are done the quicker I can meet Tina thinking as we walk to the little table at the back of the restaurant. Tina hasn't been herself lately. That boyfriend of hers was taking up all her time and I missed her. Plus the times I did see her recently she seemed out of it like she was drunk. I was brought out of my thought when I bumped into some knocking the papers I had in my hands onto the floor. "I'm sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going" I say as bend down to pick up the papers. "It was my fault" I heard in a thick accent as he handed me the papers. I stood up and saw a tall man smirking in front of me. Just as he was about to say something I heard Mr. Angelo say "Come now, we have work to do, young girl" as he pushed me towards our table. I frowned. I hated when people can me young girl or young lady.
An hour later I was heading out the door having tried to convince Mr. Angelo the best way to advertise his restaurant. It was a waste of time. He likes things the way they were. He doesn't want non locals coming in. But it doesn't stop my boss from sending me out to as Mr. Angelo puts it "give me a few ideas."I turn the corner to where I parked my car when I hear shouting and a voice I knew. "Tina" I call out. "Go away Lucy" she yells. I stop and look at her. She has been crying. He clothes are mess and shes standing next to a black Bentley. "What's the matter" I say. "He's a cheating asshole" she replies. Shocker I think, like I didn't see that coming. Not! I think to myself. Bang, bang , bang I hear bringing me out of my thoughts. There was glass everywhere. "Tina what are you doing stop it before you get arrested" I shout. She laughs and continues to smash the car. "Its ok Luce, its only Mich's car" Tina shouts out over the loud crashing of glass.
"No its not. Its my car" I hear a voice say behind me.
