Chapter Three: Together

I woke up thinking,"This is my last day with my friends. We have to do something." I got up and wore something different than I usually wear. I usually wear something purple or red, but today, I wore a blue dress. I went downstairs and saw my friend Gabriel. I haven't seen Gabriel since the third grade. He had to move away right after third grade finished. I was really sad when he had to leave, but we wrote to each other all the time.

"Hey, Gabriel."

"Hey, Katelyn."

"I heard about your mission."

"Oh."

"So...what do you want to do on our last day together?"

"Well, I have to go to school."

"I'll go with you."

"Okay." We began to walk to my school. The Government started taking everyone's time traveling watches away. I wasn't allowed to have one, but I still had one in my possession. You're suppose to be 15 to own one. I'm glad I left it at home. I loved the watch. It was a gift from my grandfather before he went missing.

A leader: Your watch, miss.

"I don't own one. I'm only fourteen."

A l: Carry on.

"Do you know what's going on with them?"

A l: We found some glitches in them. Sir, your watch.

"I don't own one either. I'm not fifteen yet." We walked away from the leader.

"Gabriel, you lied. You're already fifteen, and you do have one."

"So do you."

"Right." We went into the building, and I saw my friends.

J&E&S: Hey, Katelyn.

"Hey."

S: Who's this?

"This is my friend Gabriel."

G: Who are they?

"They are my friends."

G: "Friends?"

"Yeah, while you were gone, I made some friends. This is John, Elijah, and Sunny."

G: Nice to meet you all.

"Hey, I have to talk to you three."

S: What's wrong?

"Today is our last day together." They knew exactly what that meant.

J: We should do something.

"What should we do?"

E: I gotta' idea. What if, we go campin'? (remember Brooklyn accent)

S: Or , what about the fair that just came into town?

"Yeah," we all said together.

"It's official. The fair it is." We made it official and went to our classes. Gabriel was taking me to all my classes. We were walking when we saw Madison. Madison was his friend also when we were younger.

G: Hey, Madison.

M: Am I suppose to know you? Get lost creep.

"What happened to her?"

"Well, the summer you left was the summer we became really close. We stood by each other's side like glue. The last week of summer, she became distant. I didn't take any note of it. When I came to school, she was acting like this. Ever since then, she has always been like this."

"It wasn't because of me. Was it?"

"No, she made that clear."

"Oh, okay." School went through the motion, and it was finally over. We went to my house and ate a small snack for the road . After the snack, we left for the fair. Once we arrived, we did almost every single thing there. Once did everything, Sunny suggested that we take pictures in a photo booth. We got into the both. Sunny was sitting on John's lap. I was sitting on Elijah and Gabriel's laps. We did some pictures with smiles, some with funny faces, and some serious. Once we were done, I kept one strip, and the others split the second one. Gabriel and I went to my house, and the others went to their own. I'm really going to miss my friends and family. We finally arrived to my house. Our family's had a dinner. It wasn't for anything special. We just had dinner together. Once we were finished with dinner, I helped my mom wash the dishes and went to my room. Gabriel followed me to my room.

"Hey, Katelyn."

"Hey, Gabriel."

"Are you excited for tomorrow?"

"Yes, I am very much excited." We sat there catching up on life. We told each other what happened in our life while we were separated. It soon became late, and we had to go to sleep. I changed into my pajamas, brushed my hair and teeth, and went to bed.
