Chapter Ten: Brain Washed

* Gabriel's P.O.V.
The night Katelyn left was the night the leaders brainwashed Elijah. They erased his memory and told him that Katelyn betrayed us.

* flashback

We were having fun and games when Katelyn's parents were staring at each other funny. Her mom was whispering to her, and they went upstairs. I knew what that meant. It was time for Katelyn's mission. Bryce pulled me to the side.

B: Take my children and hide.

G: Why?

There was a knock on the door.

B: Here's James bottle. Ryan knows how to keep him quiet.

He shoved me and the kids into a closet. There was a little peep whole. I put my eye to see what was going on. Mr. Oaks opened the door.

A leader: We came to bring the teens of this house a pill.

Mr. Oaks: There is Elijah and Sunny.

A l: Here you go.

As they were handing over the pills, they knocked Mr. Oaks out. They took Elijah with them. They knocked out Sunny, Bryce, and Angela. I heard a couple leaders going upstairs. I heard a thud. I immediately knew that it was Mrs. Oaks. I didn't hear a second thud. I assumed Katelyn hid. Once the leaders were gone, the kids and I went out. We looked around and tried waking everyone up, but none of them did. I went upstairs to see if Katelyn was there. She was nowhere to be found. I turned around and didn't see Ryan. I went downstairs, and there was Elijah holding a knife to her throat.

G: Woah, easy Elijah. Put the knife down and let her go.

E: Where did Katelyn go?

G: I don't know.

E: Is that the truth?

G: Yes.

E: Take me upstairs.

I took him upstairs. Once we got to the room, he let Ryan go.

G: Are you okay?

R: Yes.

She looked so terrified. Poor thing, she is only two. How can he do this to her? It isn't like him to do this. Sure, I've only known the guy a couple of days, but he still doesn't have the right to do this. He began looking through some stuff. He checked the history of a watch and traveled to wherever he went. We stood on the couch waiting for someone to wake up. A day later, everyone woke up at the same time. It was pretty strange.

B: Thank you.

G: No problem.

I handed Bryce and Angela their kids. I went around and saw Mrs. Oaks worried.

G: Everything okay, Mrs. Oaks?

Mrs. Oaks: Did Elijah travel?

G: Yes.

Mrs. Oaks: I hope Katelyn erases his memory.

Sure enough on 1/03/3015, he came back and had no clue what was going on. They must have brainwashed him, and Katelyn must have erased his memory of him gong to wherever he went. Because when he came back, he said the last thing he remembered was coming to the Oaks house. How we know it's the truth is because we used truth serum on him. Sorry, we were desperate to find out the truth. We gathered together hoping it wouldn't get any worse than what just happened.
