Chapter 1

I am a normal high school girl, my name is Cara. I am not the kind of teenager that goes to parties and hang out with all of their friends. But the one that goes on the internet and spends way too much time thinking about celebrity crushes. I have lived in Florida all my life and I can’t stand it most of the time. I dream about moving to Los Angeles, California or New York City one day but I have no idea what I will do. I don’t have many friends other than three really close ones.

Fourth of July weekend was always my favorite, I dressed up in Red, White and Blue as the rest of America. I always went shopping with my mom to the city Supermarket. This time we went for party food and supplies, we are always having parties at our house. My mom and I got all the food we needed and headed to the check out line. Usually it was a quick in and out, but this time was different. The most beautiful boy I had ever seen was standing at the end of the line bagging the groceries, and he was staring right at me. I had always seen hot guys or attractive people from around, but never someone this stunning. He was gorgeous, he had dark blue eyes, dirty blonde hair, about 6’1 and the cutest smile you could ever see.

The next day I hadn’t stopped thinking about him, I always wondered if he thought about me too. I am a brunette with long wavy hair, big brown eyes, tanned skin, and I was average height. I wouldn’t say I am the prettiest person on the planet but I wasn’t the ugliest, I definitely wasn’t the type of girl to be liked by this perfect guy who worked at the Supermarket. I kept thinking about him but I realized I didn’t know his name.

A few days later, I got up and got dressed in some black high waisted shorts, a flowy blue shirt tucked in and some white converse. This was the only hipster outfit I owned. While getting ready, I got a text from my friend, Allie, to hang out and get frozen yogurt with her. We talked about the boy she liked, and the boy she just broke up with. It was always complicated with her. After we finished we decided to go to Target and look for some school supplies, since school was starting back up in a few weeks. We weren’t excited whatsoever but it was something to do on our Summer nights. Allie and I roamed and ran into someone we really did not want to see, someone really annoying. Marie, the most straight forward girl who doesn’t care about anyones feelings but her own.

Of course we had to say hello, and fake our way through the whole conversation. After finally finishing we walked to the school supply isle and couldn’t find anything but boring, plain colored folders. Allie was talking about some hot guy she saw at the Supermarket the other day. Automatically I was thinking of the boy I saw, inside I was hoping it wasn’t him. She was describing him and I was thinking oh my god it is him. We then decided to walk to the Supermarket because it was right next door. Since it was nine at night, there was no one in the Supermarket except a couple cashiers and some baggers. I saw the gorgeous boy and immediately told Allie that was the boy I was crushing on, and she told me it wasn’t the same boy. I was excited and then I realized we had to pretend we were actually buying something.

We walked around the store and I couldn’t stop looking at this boy, Allie wanted to find out his name because I still had no idea. She walked by him and saw his name tag and said Nick! I was happy it was a normal name, and happy I knew his name. After feeling weird and like a stalker, we walked out the side door by the sub station and drinks.

“How in the world am I going to talk to him?”, I asked Allie

“I have no idea..”, Allie replied
