Chapter 18

I picked Nick up at work so we could go to lunch together, I didn’t tell him about the text I got last night because he was already going through enough.

At lunch he seemed happy, we were eating and laughing. Kind of like the old times, I think it would only get better from here. We got up after eating, he paid although I offered. Got in the car and I drove him back to work, he put his hand on my cheek and kissed me. I couldn’t stop smiling driving home. Then I got text again:

You are too young for Nick -Unknown

My smile quickly faded after reading this text, I know I am not good enough for him, I also know how old he is and that he could do better. I don’t need some random immature girl texting me it. I had to tell Nick when he came over tonight.

I went to Nicole’s house later that day to tell her everything that happened over the weekend. So we talked and ate ice cream, as usual. Ice cream was our favorite to eat when we were talking about emotional stuff. Nicole was going on a date tonight with Dylan and I was so happy for her, I tried to show it too.

I left after about an hour or two, and changed into some sweat pants and a t-shirt. Nick called me to tell me he was on his way. I ordered pizza and got some movies from Blockbuster so we could relax tonight. I was nervous to tell him about the texts messages, but I had to tell him.

He came in through the garage with a huge smile on his face and some flowers he picked up from the Supermarket. I jumped up from the couch and kissed him, “I have never gotten flowers from anyone before” I said taking them out of his hand to put them in a vase.

“There is a first for everything”, he replied with a cute smirk on his face. He sat down on the couch and I popped some popcorn.

“I know we are having a fun night tonight but I have to tell you something that has been bothering me.” I said with a scared look on my face. I was turned towards him criss crossed.

“It’s okay, what is it?” He put his hand on my leg.

“Since we came home last night there has been a girl or someone texting me saying that ‘I am not good enough for you’ and ‘I am too young for you’ and that she deserves you...” I paused looking up at him, nervous of what he had to say. “I don’t know if you know her... or anything, I just wanted to tell you” I stopped.

“Oh god, there has been a girl in my English class that always talks to me and she was hitting on me one day. I told her I had a girlfriend and that I wasn’t interested. She didn’t take it very well, she is one of those girls that gets everything they want...” He rolled his eyes. “I had my phone on my desk and she probably took it to find your number, your name in my phone is ‘Babe’ so it’s not that hard to find” he laughed.

I started smiling, “so what do I do?” I didn’t know what else to say.

He started back up, “Well you are the only girl I want, she doesn’t have anything on you. I know you are in High School and I am in College but it doesn’t matter to me.” the smile didn’t wipe away from his or my face. He kissed me and said, “Lets get this movie night rolling.”
