Chapter 12

I woke up with Nick’s arm around me in the small uncomfortable bed, he was awake watching some weird comedy show. 

“Good morning sunshine”, he smiled looking down at me. I saw drool on his hospital gown, which was embarrassing because I liked this boy and he just drooled on him, he was hot too. 

“Good morning, how are you feeling?”, I said sleepily. I didn’t forget what we talked last night, about his parents, I just wasn’t going to bring it up now. 

“Fine, I get to leave in an hour.”, He answered. He looked back up at the TV. I looked at the door and saw his grandma walk in. 

I quickly got up from the bed and introduced myself. “Hi, I am Cara.” I said with the biggest smile I could make. 

“Hi honey, I am Susan. I am Nick’s grandma.” She said with a soft old person voice. She was short with fluffy white hair. She had on a light pink shirt and flowery white pants. 

“Nice to meet you Susan, I didn’t want to meet you like this.” I said with a worried look on my face. 

She smiled and said, “You can call me Grandma, and I didn’t either. Nick talks a lot about you.” She looked over at Nick, where he looked embarrassed. 

“Oh does he now”, I looked over at Nick and he smiled, blushing. I already loved his Grandma she was so cute. “I better get going I have to meet my friends for lunch. It was really nice meeting you.” I told Susan with a smile. I gave her a big hug and walked towards Nick.

“It was nice meeting you too, you are a beautiful young lady. I hope to see you again sometime.” She smiled and took a seat on the green chair in front of the hospital bed. 

I stopped at Nick’s bed and he put a note in my purse. I pretended I didn’t see what he did, and I hugged him and he kissed me on the cheek. I left waving to everyone. “See you later!” I said on my way out the door. 

I got in my car and drove to my house to get showered and freshened up for my lunch date with Nicole and Allie. After I was done getting ready I opened the piece of paper Nick slipped into my bag. I read it and I couldn’t stop smiling the whole way to pick up Nicole.
