Chapter 14

 We had been on a few dates after that, and hung out like normal. Then, the first day of school was here. Nick had started his first day a week before mine. Our schools weren’t far from each other and we lived pretty close. It was just annoying to go to school and think he was probably talking to some hot college girl. 

School was a bust, same old thing as last year, walking to class, talking to people I hated. I had one really good teacher that I had last year, she was like a second mom to me. Nicole and Allie were in all AP classes so I didn’t have them in mine. 

When we got out of school I drove home and took a nap. That was usual for me, waking up at 6am just wasn’t my thing. I grabbed a snack, and texted Nick about the theme park passes we got for Friday. 

Nicole’s friend Dylan got us tickets to a theme park Friday, you up for it?

That was the only thing getting me through the week.

It was Friday finally and I haven’t seen Nick since school started for me. It was kind of odd, we usually see each other every day or every other day. I wasn’t going to be the annoying ‘girlfriend’ which we weren’t even that yet. I called him and told him we were all meeting at Dylan’s place and carpooling with him. 

Nicole was extremely excited because she gets to hang out with her soon to be boyfriend today. Dylan drove, Nicole was in the passenger seat, Nick, Allie and I all sat in the back. We got free parking and free food while we were there too. Go Dylan! 

We got into the theme park and Dylan told Nicole to go with her on one of the roller coasters. Of course we weren’t going to intrude on their time alone. Allie went to the bathroom, Nick and I waited outside. “So how is school?” He asked, I felt like he was just making small talk. 

“Well considering I hate school, not too well.” I answered him, looking at the ground. I knew something was up, we have been on about four dates now and he never asked me about things I hated. 

“Oh yeah, forgot..”, He said kind of rolling his eyes while looking away from me. I was pissed. 

“How is school for you?” I said annoyed, hoping Allie would come out of the restroom soon.

“Pretty good actually!” He smiled. I hated when he smiled at things sometimes. Why would he smile. School is not something you smile about.

Allie came out of the restroom and we all made our way to ‘The Machine’, one of the rides at the theme park. Personally I loved roller coasters, Allie did not. I finally got her to ride this one with us, and she was scared out of her mind. She got off and said she liked it, I knew she would. After that she went on all of the roller coasters. 

We met up with Nicole and Dylan after awhile, Nicole whispered in my ear, “I have news to tell you”, with a big smile on her face. I think I knew what the news was, but I wanted her to tell me for herself. 

Allie went with Nicole and Dylan to get some food, while Nick and I went to sit at a table. I was sick of him right now actually. So I had to just ask, “What is up with you?” I said like a complete brat.
