Chapter 4

We got back to Dez’s house with all 10 of our challenged filled out and completed. Some of the other teams weren’t back yet, it was around 12am. My curfew was at 1am since I was only 17, which was dumb. We ate some food and danced with some music until everyone came back. Haley, Killian, and Josh finally showed up and we went through all of the challenges.

Unfortunately we didn’t win, but in my mind I did. It was a good experience for all of us, and we had a blast. Nicole decided we would all just go back to her house as usual. All of our sleepovers were at her house, which was nice. Her house always smelled so homey. 

When we got to Nicole’s house it was 1:30, which was fine because I really didn’t care. During summer us girls didn’t go to bed until 4am, except Allie she was ready to pass out. She always went to bed before everyone. Nicole and I sat on her couch playing a new game we got called Minion Run. The whole time I was hoping to get a text from Nick but I knew he probably wouldn’t, even though he said he would. I felt like Nick was a shy person and didn’t talk much. I was okay with that. We gossiped for a few hours and then passed out. 

I woke up in the afternoon around 1pm, which was usual for me. Allie already left and Nicole was still sleeping. I looked at my phone and I had 3 texts, two from my mom and one from an unknown number. I realized I had forgotten to tell my mom that I was sleeping over and she was probably worried. I texted her back explaining I was fine. Then, I read the unknown number. Forgetting I had given my number to Nick last night I read:

Hey, It’s Nick. From the Supermarket :) -Nick
