Chapter 6
My mom opened the door and said hello to Nick, it’s not like they don’t know each other. My mom goes to the Supermarket almost everyday. I walked out of my room where I saw the hottest human being standing before my eyes. I couldn’t stop smiling, it was like a dream. He looked at me and said, “You look stunning.”
“Thank you, you look nice your self”, I said with a smile.
He was wearing gray shorts, boat shoes, and a button down shirt. Which I loved when guys wore. I had never actually seen him wear anything other than his Supermarket uniform. I was getting nervous all over again. He put his arm out for me to lead the way back to the car. He had a black Mercedes parked in the front of my house. I felt like I was going to prom, which i’d never actually been to.
I hopped in the car and put my phone in my purse which was buzzing a lot from Allie and Nicole. He closed the door for me and got in the drivers seat. He played Jack Johnson which was my favorite. I was really liking him already. He drove us to a hole in the wall pizza place, which happen to be my favorite. We made small talk all the way there, which I didn’t like that much but I was saving my real questions for when we actually sat down.
He opened the Pizza Place door and pulled out my chair to sit at a table for two in the back of the restaurant, which happened to be small. Then I started asking my questions. “So what school do you go to?”, I casually said looking at the menu and up at him.
“I just moved here from Nevada actually, so I am starting at Lake Ocean College for my freshman year which is exciting.” He said with a smile looking at me. “What about you?”
“I actually am in High School still for my senior year I go right down the street.” I said nervously hoping I wasn’t too young for him.
“I was hoping I would know someone at the new school”, he laughed. “But that’s okay. So you are you ready to order?” he smiled at me.
“Yep, I am going to get a slice of cheese pizza.” I said to the waiter standing at our table.
“I will have a slice of pepperoni pizza please.” Nick said to the waiter. I was hoping he would get pizza too so I didn’t look like a pig shoving my face into the place.
After we talked a bit more about school, and Florida, the food came and we ate. We laughed at each other, and I still thought he was shy but he had come out of his shell a little. I think I started to like him for real. He paid for dinner and we walked around City Hall looking at all the lights. I was hoping he was having fun because I know I was. We got back in his car around 10pm and he drove me home. He walked me to the door and said, “I had a really fun night tonight.” he said with a smile, looking at me dead in the eyes.
“So did I, I hope I wasn’t too boring. No one has really taken me out on a real date before.” I said looking back at him.
“Oh so this was a date”, he smiled, “You weren’t boring, you were really fun to hang out with actually.” I was freaking out because I realized I said date.
“I mean if you want to call it a date, it doesn’t have to be.” I said nervous he was thinking I was a creep and he didn’t want to see me ever again.
“How about on our second so called date, we can go somewhere nicer?” Nick lifted his eye brow, waiting for an answer.
“I think that sounds awesome.” I said. He gave me a hug, not one of the friendly hugs either one of the, ‘hey i like you’ hugs. Which was nice. I opened the door to go inside and smiled for the rest of the night.
