Chapter 22

We spent the money on food and souvenirs, the week was over and we were packing up our things from the hotel. It was the best week any of us had in the longest time. We got into the elevator with our suit cases and the lift went down. 

“So when are we doing this again?” Nick said smiling at everyone.

No one responded we all just kind of smiled and walked out of the elevator as it opened. The taxi got us from the hotel and it was a 20 minute trip to the airport. 

“I miss my mom”, Allie said looking the taxi floor.

“Yeah I kind of do too”, Ella agreed.

We finally got to the airport and the flight was boarding as we arrived. We rushed to the boarding spot, we literally ran there. Got on just in time, and the plane took off. 

We landed in Florida around 3pm and everyone was pooped. I knew this wouldn’t be the last time we all hung out as a group, but it would be awhile before we hung out again. Another taxi took us to Melissa’s house and we all got in our cars to drive home from there. Ella and James went to Ella’s house for dinner, both of their families were there. Allie and Aaron took separate cars and went to their homes. Dylan and Nicole went out to dinner then went back to their houses. I took Nick home, and went home. 

Melissa face-timed me later that night to talk about our next trip. She was a traveler; the next trip was to England. I am pretty sure we couldn’t afford that trip right now, but we could dream. 

Things were different when we came home from New York, everyone stayed to themselves. It would seem like we had a huge fight through the whole trip. I understand that we needed a break from each other, but it has been a couple days and I had only seen or talked to Nicole and Allie at school a little bit. I haven’t really talked to Nick, only a little. He was busy with school and so was I. I felt like everyone was going in different ways and that scared me. 

I called Nicole that night to try to get together and see what was up, “Hey Nicole”

“I was just about to text you” She said laughing and enthusiastic. 

“Just wanted to see if you wanted to hang out tonight?” 

“Yes! We haven’t hung out since New York”. 

“I know! Okay good, ill come by in an hour?” 

“Sounds awesome, cant wait.”

I went over there within the hour, I brought some snacks as usual. We sat on her couch and we talked about normal stuff.

“Have you talked to anyone else lately?” I asked her wondering if I was the only one.

“I have talked to Allie and Dylan but that’s about it”

“Hmm.. I just think its weird that we haven’t talked in awhile.” 

“Well I gotta tell you something about Nick, you are probably gonna be sad.”

“Oh god.. what is it?” I asked already about to cry

“He....” she started
