The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Enemies of the heir...beware.
There it was. Written in blood. All of us teachers had just gotten here, after the students, when we heard the news of this on the wall, which was after dinner in the Great Hall.
"It's Filch's cat." I heard a familiar voice, and then the voice was associated with the face. It was Harry, with his three friends behind him, of course.
"Enemies of the heir beware?" I heard Malfoy ask, the smirk evident. Nobody saw me, because I was hidden, but I very well heard everything that went on. "You'll be first, Mudbloods." He said, looking directly at...Hermione? Autumn hasn't told me about her day, come to think of it.
"What's going on here?" Filch yelled out, pushing through the crowd. He pushed through Fred and George, the Weasley pranksters (like Fabian and Gideon when I was in school), surprising the one who is Fred. I noticed Fred was daydreaming, looking towards where Autumn was standing. I mentally 'aw-ed' in my head, but decided not to say anything, as I am just jumping to conclusions.
"Potter." Filch glared at Harry, just like he did us, the Marauders. My eyes became a bit watery at the memory, and the Marauder's Map came to my mind as well. And just then, I knew how much I missed the days when we were just teenagers. "What are you...?" Filch growled at Harry, but once he looked up, he stopped "Mrs. Norris?" Filch looked at the motionless cat., his voice trembling. "You murdered my cat."
"No...no I didn't." Harry looked scared.
"I'm going to kill you." Filch was fuming. "I'll kill ya!!"
"Argus!" Spoke Dumbledore's hoarse voice. "Argus, I - everyone...proceed to their dormitories immediately. Everybody except...you four."Guess who the four are. If you guessed Harry, Ron, Autumn, and Hermione, then you're correct!
I walked to where the teachers are, standing near Sev.
"Argus, it's quite alright. She's not dead. She has just been petrified." Dumbledore told Filch, who looked as if he was about to cry.
"Ah, Potter! So unlucky I wasn't there. I know the perfect counter curse that could've spared her!" Lockhart said.
I rolled my eyes and let out a laugh.
"And yet you cant control some Cornish Pixies." I pointed out with a fake smile. Dumbledore weirdly nodded at him and turned to Filch.
"How she has been petrified I cannot say." Dumbledore said.
"Ask him. He's done it." Filch pointed at Harry. "You saw what he wrote on the wall."
"It's not true, sir." Autumn piped up.
"I swear!" Harry screamed. "I never touched Mrs. Norris."
"Rubbish!" Filch said.
I nudged Sev in the shoulder, as if to tell him to say something. He looked at me questioningly and I raised my eyebrow, hoping he's catch on.
"If I might, Headmaster, perhaps Potter and his friends were simply at the wrong place at the wrong time." Sev told Dumbledore and then looked at me as if to say 'Are you happy?!' I nodded with a smile, but Sev saw the weird and surprised looks on the kids' faces and didn't stop there.
"However, the circumstances are suspicious. I, for one, do not recall seeing Potter at dinner." He said. I spoke, before Lockhart decided to.
"Harry had detention, Severus. He was helping Lockhart answer fan mail, and skipped dinner." I told him.
"That's why Ron and I went looking for him, Professor." Hermione said.
"We had just found him when he said..." Autumn spoke, but then looked at Harry in alarm.
"Yes, Ms. Black?" Sev asked.
"When I said I wasn't hungry!" Harry piped up, and I knew that it was a save, and not the real reason. "We were heading back to the Common Room when we found Mrs. Norris."
"Innocent until proven guilty." Dumbledore nodded.
"My cat has been petrified. I wanna see some punishment!" Said Filch.
"We can cure her, Argus." Dumbledore began, and said something about Professor Sprout. Then he said:
"I strongly recommend caution...To All."
