Harry's P.O.V.
I laid there in a sleeping bag, and I couldn't sleep without thinking about today's whole incident. Sirius Black was here. He was so close. And now I hear professor Dumbledore, Flitwick, and Snape along with Mr. Filch talking about how they cannot find him. I hear Sapphire coming in right after Snape, who just said that he's searched the dungeons and hasn't found Black, and she said that she's looked around as well, but Sirius Black was nowhere to be found in the castle.
"You don't really expect him to linger." The headmaster said, in a sort of obvious tone.
"Remarkable feet, don't you think? To enter the castle, on one's own, completely undetected." Snape sneered.
"Quite remarkable yes." Said Dumbledore.
"Any theory on how he might have managed it?" Snape asked.
"None at all, now can we please change the subject? Please?" Sapphire pressed.
"Many, each as unlikely as the next." Dumbledore said, answering Snape instead.
"Guess not." Sapphire whispered to herself.
"You may recall, prior to the start of the term, I did express concerns about our appointment of Professor L-" Snape started, but I wasn't able to understand who he was referring to.
"Not a single professor in this castle would help Sirius Black enter it." Dumbledore told Snape.
"I feel that I know two people who might." Snape said, his voice almost as if he was implying something.
"Well then, Severus. I see we still have trust issues." Sapphire scoffed at him. Sapphire? What did she know about this matter?
"Listen, Sapphire, I know wh-"
"I'm quite convinced the castle is safe." Dumbledore cut Snape off, but I was waiting to listen to what they had to say. "And I'm more than willing to send the students back to their houses."
"What about Potter?" Snape spit out my last name like venom, and I had to really fight the urge to snap back at him. "Should he be warned?" Wait....warned? What would even Snape have to warn me about?
"Perhaps...but for now, let him sleep." Dumbledore spoke. "For in dreams, we enter a world that's entirely our own. Whether it is swimming in the deepest ocean or gliding on the highest cloud." I realized he was standing over me, so I pretended to be sleeping, still in earshot of the conversation.
"But professor, what will we do? We wont have time, and he'll find out at the worst time, and maybe from the wrong people. We can't let that happen." Sapphire was speaking, probably to Dumbledore.
"My dear girl, Potter's just like his father. A delinquent. but he always came out on top." Snape said so aggressively I thought he might put up more of a fight. I snorted at the comment of his, but soon my eyes widened, and I wanted to hit myself in frustration.
They became quiet, dreadfully quiet.
"You heard that too, right?" Sapphire whispered.
"Indeed." Dumbledore chuckled, probably knowing I am awake. Curse him and knowing everything.
"Good, I'm not going mad. Perhaps a student is not yet asleep or something." She guessed.
"At this time of night?" Snape wondered.
"After all that's happened today, I don't think I will be able to sleep either." She said, honestly.
"You can go talk to Professor L-" Snape started, but again, Sapphire cut him off.
"Shut. It." She said, threateningly, and you could practically hear Snape smirk when he said what he did next.
"I was merely suggesting it."
"You two need to stop bickering again." Dumbledore chuckled.
What does he mean by again...?
