"Fortuna Major." I heard a boy say on the other side of the portrait. Seamus Finnigan, I think it was.
The Fat Lady Portrait wasn't budging, though and then I heard singing. I chuckled quietly to myself. Oh, the Fat Lady, always wanting to sing.
She actually stopped me once when I was out after curfew to ask for singing tips. I just wanted to get away from Filch, and she just asked me to match pitch with her.
I was able to avoid that, but I'm not so sure it would've went well anyway.
Snapping me out of my thoughts were the shrill singing of the Fat Lady, probably trying to sing high pitch to break a glass. After a load of that, I heard a sound of breaking glass, but only because she probably hit it against the wall.
"Fortuna Major." I heard again, from Harry this time.
"Oh alright." The Fat Lady groaned and the portrait door opened.
"Thank you. Gosh." Harry said, a rolling of eyes apparent in the way he said it.
I saw him and Seamus walking, saying things at the same time - "She can't even sing!" "Exactly!" - and laughing.
Harry looked back at me and cracked a smile, me doing the same to him. I felt a plop on the couch.
"Hi mum!"
"Hey honey, how was your first day?" I asked Autumn.
"It was pretty great until you screamed at Professor Snape. What was that about?" She asked me, outraged. I sighed.
"We got into a little...okay big...disagreement over, erm, Potions." I was hoping the lie would work.
"Really?!" She asked, buying it. "It sounded so serious."
"Well, he was just persistent on his answer."
"Makes sense. Alright, well I'm going to go unpack. Bye mum!"
I waved to her and said "bye!"

Earlier, I heard the boys joking around in their dorm, laughing. I heard the girls giggle. Now, everybody is sound asleep.
But how can I sleep on a night like this?
I saw the rain and lightning outside. More importantly, I saw the Dementors. It automatically gave me the shivers. Tossing and turning, I couldn't even blink.
So I did what I used to do when I was in my adolescent years. I crawled out of bed, grabbed my pillow, not caring that I'm in my pajamas, and left to Remus's room. Thankfully, the teachers get their own room, so I knew he is alone. I just needed to talk to him.

At Remus's
I knocked on the door. Once, twice, thrice. I expected him not to answer, to be quite honest. I walked in the room and came up to his bed.
"Remus." I whispered. "Remus." I waited a little bit until saying it a bit louder. "Remus!"
"GAH!" He screamed out, and I threw my head back in shock. Once I opened my eyes again, I saw he fell off his bed...also in shock. I giggled.
Once he sat back up, he looked at me in total confusion.
"Sapphire...I hope you don't mind my asking, but, why are you here?" He asked me, his eyes half closed.
"I just couldn't sleep is all."
"Something bothering you?"
"...How could it not?"
