This chapter has a bit of background for a few of the characters. Mostly Lorien's. I'm really sorry if it's confusing.

Eir looked down at the girl's mark.  It was worse then she thought it was going to be.

This wasn't the first time she had seen this Mark. She had first seen it many years before. Eir shook the memory from her mind and looked up at the girl in front of her. Long raven black hair and piercing ocean green eyes thats gaze challenged Loki's in mischief.  The siblings were very alike.

Of course Eir knew they were siblings, she had been present when Lorien had been brought to earth.  Just as she had been when Loki had been brought by Odin from Jötunheim.

Despite her banishment, Odin had allowed her access to Asgard for a short amount of time nearly thirteen years ago.  The time in which Lorien was brought to Earth.  Odin said if Eir would watch over her until she was five and grown accustomed to Earth, Eir would have access to Asgard for the five years. After those five years, her banishment would continue and she would no longer be aloud near Lorien. She agreed. After all, it meant she could go home.

Eir met Odin at where the Bifrost touched down, a small bundle of blankets holding a child was given to her. A little girl, blue tinted fingertips wrapped around Eir's pinky when she held her hand in front of the child. That was probably the first bit of happiness she had since her banishment.

From there Eir met Fury, the man Odin had asked to watch over Lorien after Eir, to be her "father". He was he leader of an organization called S.H.I.E.L.D, which she learned the Avengers were part of. The heroes that protected the mortals from the Chituari and Loki in his unhealthy hunger for power.

Eir helped Fury raise her since he had no previous knowledge on raising children. She acted like a nanny and she would come and go as needed. Eir didn't want Lorien to get too attached to her because it would break her heart when she was to return to her banishment.

Lorien had grown a lot since Eir had last seen her. She was no longer a little toddler, running around and learning to speak more then just, dada, kaw-kaw, and more. Kaw-Kaw is what Lorien called Eir when she was young, and now Lorien had no memory of the previous encounter with the Goddess of Healing. She was too young to remember those things.

Just as Loki didn't remember Eir helping Frigga take care of him and his brother, when they were young.

Eir considered them family, and if she didn't work quickly, she would lose one of them.
