*this chapter probably wouldn't have be posted today but my school called a last moment 2-hour delay and I figured why not*
LORIEN'S P.O.V.
ASGARDIAN PALACEAt first everything was dark, that's all I could remember. I was cold and scared. I was stuck in this swirling darkness, and then my eyes flashed open. I groaned as bright light filled my vision.
"She's awake!" An excited voice suddenly cried. I could barely make out the words, the sound loud and jarring in my ears.
"Ow," I mumbled, blinking to see clearer.
"Lower your voice." Another voice ordered, this one male and I only faintly recognized it. I squeezed my eyes shut once again and once I reopened them, I could finally see everything normally. Well, some what.
Everything seemed much clearer then it normally did, more vivid, more detailed—and way brighter. And the smells. I could smell everything.
I shot up and instantly regretted. I buried my head in my hands, blinking again. "What's happening? Where am I?"
I felt a hand on my shoulder, the faint smell of alcohol and engine grease resonated from it's owner.
"Take a breath, kiddo. Natasha's going to get your brother." I recognized the voice instantly as Tony's. I shook his hand off—at this point I was beginning to freak.
"What the heck is going on!" I exclaimed, still not being able to completely open my eyes. I felt another person at my side before I heard the unfamiliar voice again.
"Child, calm yourself. You are in the Asgardian palace. You are safe." The voice ordered and I squeezed my eyes shut in an attempt to calm myself down. Once my breaths finally slowed, I heard Loki's voice.
"Lorien."
What smelled faintly like leather, pine needles and falling rain surrounded me as my brother drew closer—something I had never noticed before. Just like with Tony. What was going on?
"Loki," I asked gently, trying to keep my voice from wavering. "What is happening?"
The last thing I remembered before waking up was the pain from my mark disappearing and then passing out. I should be dead.
"Eir's counter curse worked an—"
"Obviously." I snapped.
"Good thing to know that she's still the annoying brat that she was before." I heard Tony whisper under his breath—but I shouldn't have been able too.
"I might not be able to see you right now, but I can still hit you." I grumbled and I heard Loki sigh.
"Anyway," Loki interrupted. "As it is very clearly seen, the spell worked. But there were two side affects."
"The mark stayed." I answered.
"How did you know that?" Loki asked, surprised.
"There was a wolf in my dream, he explained everything." I answered before attempting to open my eyes again. Light filled my vision, it still hurt but it wasn't as bad it was before. I blinked a few times, my gaze flickering over the people surrounding me.
Loki and Tony stood closest to me—obviously. Natasha stood leaning against the wall and Clint stood beside her. The room seemed familiar to me and I came to the conclusion that it was one of the healing rooms.
"Lorien." My gaze shifted back to Loki as he spoke my name and then to his left as another figure caught my eye. This one was far from human and could have easily been compared to a bear in size.
The massive, black furred wolf from my dream stood directly beside my brother.
"Oh," I breathed out surprised. My eyes widened as the wolf's bright amber eyes trained on me.
"Hello Lorien." He greeted with a small nod of his head.
"Am I still the only one that thinks it weird that he can talk?" Tony murmured, annoyed. Natasha sent a well placed smack to the back of his head and told him to shut up.
"Y-you." I whispered. The wolf let out a chuckle.
"Yes." He laughed. "My name is Käro."

"So, Karoe—"
"Keh—row." Käro interjected me and I let out an annoyed sigh. Why was Asgardian names so difficult.
"Okay, so Käro. Could you explain exactly why my eyes feel like they're constantly burning and I can smell literally everything?"
"I am still bound to the mark. But since I am in my physical form, it seems some of my abilities were transferred to you. My enhanced eye sight and sense of smell, maybe even more." Káro explained. My eyes widened—no way.
"So that's why when I woke up, everything seemed so bright and loud. Will it always hurt like that?" I asked meekly. Káro shook his head.
"It will not, you will grow use to it in time."
"So the munchkin can now smell better. Tell me, what do I smell like?" Tony teased, I rolled my eyes. Tony crossed his arms, his eyes lighting up with excitement.
"Trying too hard and stupidity."
The look on Tony's face was priceless and excited light diminished. "Hey!"
I was definitely going to like this.

Hey, remembertheshadows, you got your somewhat of a Rise of the Guardians quote.
Hope you liked the chapter, I had some difficulty writing it and that was one of the reasons it took so long to update Chapter 33.
*Fun Fact: when deciding what Tony smelled like, for some reason I was stuck on alcohol and I couldn't think of anything else so I randomly asked my little brother and he just looked at me and told me that he thought that Tony was the kind of person that would smell like peaches. Obviously that didn't make the final cut but it was funny none the less.*
This is the final chapter of Into Darkness. There will be an epilogue after this. And then the possibility of a companion book is still up there.
