Two massive men stood directly in the center of the path. And when I say massive—I mean massive. Standing at what seemed like 6 foot 4 each, they would easily dwarf Loki.
I scrambled to my feet, rushing back towards Aurea who was neighing and stomping her front hooves into the dirt. I grabbed her reins and turned to see Loki directing Skygge so that there was a barrier between myself and the men.
"Who are you?" Loki demanded, his knuckles were white from his grip on Skygge's reins. One of the two men chuckled, their identical almost black, brown eyes gleaming with a dark amusement.
"Should it matter? You'll be brought to Amora whether you know our names or not." The one that laughed said. He had a strange accent—one that I didn't recognize. He also bared a scar that stretched across the features on his face, reaching from his left brow to the top of his lips. His entire left eye was a milky white but it seemed to stare into my soul none the less.
"I believe otherwise," Loki snipped, "We should at least be adults and express our grievances verbally before we commence with violence."
The man sneered. "The Enchantress warned us that you were quite pretentious." The other man laughed as well.
"Pretending to be innocent and above her, when you know very well of what you have done." A scowl crossed Loki's lips as the man spoke. His jaw clenched before firing back.
"Those are matters between her and I. Not mindless guard dogs she sends to confront me." Loki's head turned, looking out at the trees as if he was looking for something.
"I know you are listening," He shouted. "You are attempting to kill my sister because of matters between you and I. Not her."
The air was quiet. Not even the wind was loud enough to make a sound, my breath caught in my throat.
A loud hoot broke the silence. My head whipped in the direction that Loki was just moments before looking. There, on a low hanging branch, sat an owl. And bright ice blue eyes stared back at me.
"You did this to yourself." Was all Loki said in response.

THIRD PERSON P.O.V.
Amora's hand slammed down against the wood of the table, a growl escaping from her throat. The water in the bowl sitting in front of her rippled but the scene still played out for her to see.
Loki and Lorien and the rest of their pathetic group, crossing past the Bawarth brothers and continuing on their journey. Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic!
"Problem?"
Amora whipped around, her sharp green eyes landing on the smirk that the goddess of healing was wearing.
"This is just so amusing," Eir laughed "Did you actually think that Loki would give up that easily? You place a couple magic-less men in his path and expect him to bow to your every whim?"
Amora's fists balled at her sides, her eyes narrowing dangerously. She lifted her hand and barely flickered her wrist. Her fingers lit up as Eir cried out in pain.
Eir felt like she was on fire. Her skin burned.
"I did not give you permission to speak, fallen." Amora hissed, before dropping her hand. Her hold on Eir vanished, as did the pain. Eir gasped in relief.
"You're going to tell me the counter spell." Amora demanded, crossing her arms. Eir was quiet. "Speak!"
"That sort of magic is too difficult for child like you to comprehend." Eir sighed, tilting her head as she gauged Amora's reaction. The Enchantress' eyes filled with rage.
"You bloody pathetic, imbecilic vixen!"
"Correction, Goddess. Maybe to pathetic, yes to imbecilic but no to vixen. I'm a goddess—you're the vixen."

LORIEN'S P.O.V.
After the owl, we passed the two men without a problem. It was most definitely strange and I was still wary of the encounter. Once out of ear shot Natasha and Clint rode up.
"What in the world was that all about?" Clint gaped and Loki shook his head.
"I've grown sick of her games. The sooner we end this, the better." Loki hissed. His knuckles remained a frigid white and his shoulders were tense.
"We should arrive within the next hour." Loki explained, and then he went silent for the remainder of the trip.
