"I thought we decided using magic was a bad idea," David interjected.
Hook took a few steps forward, "for once, I agree with the Prince," the pirate then turned, solely speaking to David, "well, I told you we were getting along."
Regina ignored them both, placing the parchment in her open palm. I held my breath, sincerely hoping it wouldn't blow up in all our faces. She took her right hand and waved it over the parchment. It glowed purple and then flew up to her eye level.
"What the hell are you doing?" Emma asked.
"The locator spell. This parchment belonged to Pan," she smirked, "It'll lead us to him," the yellowed object floated to a path just outside the clearing.
"So it appears we will be venturing to the Dark Jungle after all," Hook stood from the tree he was leaning on.
The Savior furrowed her brow, "You mean that place you told us never to set foot?"
"That's the one."
"Well, Emma, you wanted to be the leader," Regina paused, looking her in the eyes, "Lead."
So, we started walking. As we got closer to the Dark Jungle I could feel the difference in atmosphere. What was the enchanting allure of the island suddenly turned sinister. Despite the humid, sticky warmth everywhere else here it felt cold. It set me on edge.
As we neared Pan's camp I felt that same sick feeling from before. I felt like I was being watched. All I could hope was that it didn't make me so sick I couldn't fight. If Pan said no magic, he likely had a way to tell if we did, and if he did he knows we broke the rules. He'll come ready. We need to be ready too. I just hope no one on our end gets hurt. Especially since their arrows are dipped in Dreamshade.
"Wait," Regina stopped, "He's here. I can feel his smugness," you have no idea how right you are about that.
David drew his sword, "Shall we? While we have the element of surprise on our side?"
"I doubt he's surprised," I muttered. Regina furrowed her brow at me.
"Careful," Hook started, saving me, "he may look like a boy, but he's a bloody demon," we went it.
We all stepped into the clearing. Nothing was set up; bot tents, or a fire pit. It was just an empty clearing with no Lost Boys or Pan in sight. Which meant no Henry. I scanned the area again, hoping for some sign of him. Alas, there was none, until my eyes settled on someone in a blue coat with a multicolor scarf. My instinct told me something was off, "guys, hold on," I called before a fight could break out between Mary Margaret and Regina.
"Is that..." Emma trailed, "Henry?"
The figure turned, "Hi, Emma," Pan. His eyes flickered to me for the most fleeting of moments.
"Where the hell is Henry?"
"You broke the rules. That's not fair--Bad form," Pan looked to Hook, "I expect more from you, Captain."
"Aye," he said, "and you'll get it."
Regina stepped forward, "Give Henry to me."
"Sorry, can't," the brush around us rustled, "don't you know?" the demon smirked, "Cheaters never win. Ready to tell the truth?" Lost Boys came out of the woods, shouting their battle cries.
"I'm ready to kick your ass," Emma responded.
Pan laughed, "nice comeback, but I wasn't talking to you," and then he left. Hook locked eyes with me just before an arrow whizzed by my face.
I grabbed the first Lost Boy I saw and twisted his wrist so he'd drop his blade. I picked it up then kicked him in the stomach before turning to my right and parrying. Our blades connected with the most awful scrape.
He pushed me back and another Lost Boy pushed me to the side. I tripped, hitting the ground. Then, one of them picked me up and tossed me towards the middle of the clearing. Pan whistled, calling back all of his troops. All of them retreated except for one. I looked up and met eyes with him. He was smirking and I could swear that's the permanent position of his face.
"Ready to tell the truth?" he challenged. I reached for the blade to my right, "come on, Elyssa tell them who you really are." A deep anger set in my heart.
"What's he talking about?" the voice was Regina's.
Felix's smirk widened and off-set the line of his ear, "Yes, what am I talking about?"
I stood, barely gripping on the the handle of my stolen machete, "this is who I am."
"Are you sure you aren't just lying to yourself?"
"Shut up!" I pinned him to a tree. He only laughed, hazel eyes particularly brown at the moment.
"Elyssa, let him go," Mary Margaret called, "this isn't the way!"
Too bad I didn't care at the moment. Felix and I were locked in a death stare. No one moved for fear it would set me off. I didn't notice until Felix raised an eyebrow and glanced downward that I was shaking. All I felt in that moment was anger.
"This is what I've been teaching you," Regina encouraged, "do it--take out Pan's right hand. Cripple him," this just seemed to amuse him even more.
"He's just a kid, Regina," Emma said.
"I know the darkness is tempting. I get it," David started, "but whatever he mentioned earlier--whatever truth about you that we don't know, whatever secret you have--it's not worth throwing away your soul!"
I was conflicted. Regina had a point, and I know the full extent of that point. Felix's fierce loyalty has been invaluable to Pan. He does a lot of the hands on work and if he was gone...
You can't seriously be considering this! It won't matter. There are other Lost Boys and just because he chose to make it easier on himself doesn't mean he isn't capable. All Peter would have to do is---
Peter
I pulled away from Felix, but not without cutting his arm as a parting gift. I dropped the machete and Mary Margaret rushed over to make sure I was okay. My eyes never left Felix's. He gave a curt salute and walked away. Wordlessly I followed suit, turning and heading back towards the last clearing we were at.
"Let her go, Snow," David muttered as I walked away.
Looks like I don't have a choice.
