So here we were in Tinkerbell's treehouse with tinkerbell nowhere in sight. I was ready to give up on the whole plan and start over. There is no way she'll help us if Regina is involved. I can't really blame her--I wouldn't help either.

"Hey guys, I found something," David reached down and pulled up a piece of white cloth, "its a handkerchief."

I grabbed it from him, "its Regina's," I said, confused, "How did it get here?"

"She's been watching us," Emma suggested, "tracking Regina."

"But if she's been watching us then-" Hook cut Mary Margaret off, connecting eyes with me.

"We're in the wrong place." the room was silent. The easiest way to find her would be a locator spell like she'd tried to do with Pan's map, "You alright, Lass?"

"Hm?" I shifted a bit, "fine."

"You sure? You're staring at the handkerchief like you're trying to burn a hole into it," Emma said.

I shook off the distraction, "well, nice for us we can just use the locator spell to find her. She can't be far."

"Tinkerbell is a fairy; Fairies have wings. They could be anywhere," Snow reasoned.

"Either way, we have to find Regina and Tinkerbell. Go ahead, cast the spell. Better start now," David nodded to me.

I looked down to the cloth in my hand, stepping back out onto the ground. Probably better to cast it from here so we're all ready to follow it. The air felt tense as I relaxed, letting go of the tension in my shoulders. Everyone watched expectantly.

My mind drifted back to those days in the forest. I hadn't bothered to count the years I'd spent running, but in my time being in Storybrooke I'd come to a rough estimate of five. Five long years on the street trying to find somewhere I belonged--somewhere I could stay. For nothing. I don't belong anywhere.

The once white cloth glowed a vague red before shifting into a gold. Return to whence you came. I thought. It floated from my hand, drifting forward. Emma started after it and the rest of us fell in line.

David had chosen to sink to the back with me. At first, he didn't say anything but he kept glancing as if he had something to say but didn't know how to say it. I glanced at him periodically as we kept walking. If I had better control over my thoughts, maybe I wouldn't be thinking about the days I spent with Pan--on and off the island. Charming finally spoke.

"So, you've been here before?" he asked warily.

     "Yes," I responded in kind.

"What was it like?" he reached his foot farther in his step, avoiding an unruly limb on his side of the path, "is it doable?"

My face scrunched inquisitively, "why? What's going on?"

"Nothing," he rushed, "just curious," his eyes darted away when he spoke. He's hiding something. I didn't press.

"Honestly, David," I sighed, "it's nice if you're Pan or a lost boy. There are a few other people on this island--people I'd met only briefly--that don't have it so easy. None of them have magic," the last point was meant to evoke a reaction. I wanted to know what was going on and if I got him to slip he couldn't deny it. Unfortunately, his face stayed straight, "this place is beautiful until you realize it's run by a demon."
