Chapter 5.7 - Vague Anticipation

A tall young man sporting a checkered sweater vest and dark brown beret knocked on a door of polished wood. Red irises gleamed behind a pair of narrow, white frames.

"Come in," a patient male voice answered from within.

The young man did as he was told and entered the office. It was a wide space with a bookcase occupying an entire wall as well as an enormous, detailed map of the world above a lit fireplace opposite to that. A long, antique carpet covered the floor between the door and a huge, clear window on the other side of the room. In front of the window was a desk with three phones, several books, charts, papers, and a laptop.
