***Jaden***

I pull my hair behind my head and push it into a tight bun wrapping the hair tie around it expertly. Crash! I hear a box being dropped and things shattering behind me. I turn around and the moving man, John, is just staring at me. "Can't I just catch a break today?" I sigh and grumble under my breath. I open the box and see all of my plates and cups in the box. I look up at John. "I'm so sorry Jaden. I didn't mean to. I swear." I shake my head. "The dishes weren't important anyway. I can get takeout tonight and buy dishes after I get a job. I'll take these to the dumpster. Can you and Mike grab the couch and bring it to the living room?" He nodded and I picked up the box full of shattered dishes.

I walk down the driveway and look at the dumpster that I share with my neighbor. I set the box down and open it. I pick up a partial plate and caress the side of it lovingly. I feel tears start to spill down my cheeks and I throw the partial plate at the ground in white hot anger. It shatters even more and shrapnels hit my legs. I pick up the whole box and throw it into the dumpster. I pause before heading back to inspect my injuries. Blood is gushing from my left shin and that's about it.

"Are you alright, young lady?" I hear someone say and look up from my legs. My face is streaked with tears and I rub my eyes. There is a young looking man jogging toward me. I smile and say yeah. I watch his body as it slows to a stop in front of me. He has black frothy hair that covers his forehead and ears and large framed glasses. He looks to be about six foot tall and rather muscular. He held out a hand that I grabbed and shook and he said "The names Link." I smiled "Jaden." I said shyly. I looked deeply into his eyes and smiled. They were blue and shining full of delight and happiness. He smiled back.

"Why don't you come over and I can help you clean that up." Link said. I smiled and nodded. I followed him back to the house he came from and he opened the door. The setup of the house was similar to mine. A very open living room separated from the kitchen by a counter coming out of the wall, and a set of stairs against the wall. I examined the rooms intensely as we walked by them and as I was looking into the room across from the bathroom I saw a large bed and a small dresser and a closet and that was all I could see, but as I was examining I hadn't realized that Link had stopped walking and I walked into him.

"Ooooof" I siad as I bumped into Link. He turned around and looked at me. My cheeks burned hot and I knew they were red. "S-sorry" I whispered and looked down at my feet. He laughed and said "It's alright."and smiled. His smile was cute. It seemed to always linger on his face. It was intoxicating. I saw him smile and felt like I had to as well.

He pointed at the toilet. "Sit." He directed. I sat. He rummaged through the medicine cabinet and pulled out peroxide. He grabbed a few pieces of toilet paper and opened it. He dumped a bit of it onto the toilet paper. He gently dabbed my shin where the glass cut me. I winced and he placed his other hand on my knee. "Oh, crap." he said. I panicked a little "What?" He laughed a little "The glass is still in your leg." I smiled and laughed.

"So, what kind of music do you like?" he asked. I smiled and said "I like all kinds of mus- HEY!" I shrieked. He smiled and held the piece of glass up for me to see. It was covered in blood and about 8 centimeters long. I laughed. He smiled his infectious smile and covered threw the piece of glass in the trash can next to the toilet. He got a band-aid out of the medicine cabinet and covered the spot where the blood was coming out of.

We walked back to the door. "I ought to be getting back." I siad and he frowned a little. "Alright. How about you come over for dinner tonight? 6? Alright. See you then." He said and smiled at me then closed the door. I didn't even respond, but hey, I wouldn't mind coming here for dinner.
