My Mythical Best and My Mythical Worst

Jaden's Return

    I roll over, forgetting I'm on the couch, and hit the floor. I hear a giggle behind me and some sloshing. Assuming it was Jaden, who had stayed at my house for longer than she needed to because we were traveling together, I sit up and stare at her goofily. "Mini Wheats?" she smiles and holds out a bowl full of what I'm assuming was Mini Wheats. I get up and walk over. She sets the bowl in front of me and we enjoy our cereal together. 

     We hung around my house with Rhett, Jessie, and their kids for a while before it came time for us to go to the airport. Rhett was going to drive us so we didn't have to pay for parking a car. We hurriedly got through security and were waiting for our plane to board. I knew Jaden was really nervous about going home and I wondered why but I knew better than to ask. 

     The woman doing boarding said "rows 13 through 18" and we stood up. We boarded the plane and sat down in the chairs. I wanted to sit on the inside but Jaden said she wanted to so I let her. We were about an hour into the flight when she leaned on me and started falling asleep. 

     The plane landed down in Grand Rapids, Michigan and I woke Jaden up. Her brother was supposed to be picking us up from there. We got off the plane and Jaden dropped her carry on and took off at a full sprint and jumped into somebody's arms. I grabbed her bag and assumed that the guy was her brother. I walked toward them and they were laughing. She turned towards me and smiled. "Link, this is Michael, my oldest brother. Michael, this is Link, my boyfri- I mean friend." I reached out and shook his hand taken by surprise by what she said. 

     The ride to her house was a little awkward. Her and Michael talked the whole ride there and I sat awkwardly in the backseat alone. When we got there, there was a dog barking in the front yard and two in the windows. The dogs left the window and joined the other outside running up to the car. There were six children playing on the swingset in the yard and what seemed to be two couples and a single woman sitting at a picnic table talking and enjoying the company. The people at the table waved us over as we got out and Jaden skipped over to them happily. 

     Michael hugged and kissed the woman who was sitting there so I assumed that they were married and the children all ran over to Jaden and started hugging her. She kissed each one on the forehead and Michael said go play and let the grownups talk kids. The couples got up and hugged Jaden and She smiled. "Guys, This is Link." She said and looked at me and I waved shyly. "Link, That's Elijah and Ezekiel, they are twins, and that's Mckenzie, and Sydney, their wives. This is Emma, Michael's wife." I smiled at all of them, "What about the kids?" I asked immediately regretting it. 

     "Michael and Emma's kids are those two," she pointed at a young girl and older boy, "Stella, and Adam." She pointed at another three, "those are Zeek and Sydney's kids, Raven, Niko, and Keelie. The last one is Eli and Mckenzie's and her name is Margret." I nodded taking in all the information when an older woman appeared at the door. 

     "Dinner time!" She screamed, "Oh, Jaden, honey. You're here. Why didn't anyone tell me?" We walked to the house and the children and dogs followed. She hugged the woman I'm assuming was her mother and I shook her hand and said "Link." She smiled graciously and said, "you can call me mom, or Catherine. Whichever you prefer." I smiled. 

     The adults all sat around a dinner table and the children got stuck at a card table in the living room. I stayed quiet most of the meal until Catherine said, "so, Link, honey, have you ever been to Michigan?" I looked up at her and realized everyone was looking at me. "Uhhh." I said, "No. I haven't." I didn't have anything else to add to that and it became silent and awkward for a moment before Jaden said, "he is from North Carolina." she tried to make that sound interesting but it wasn't. I nodded and Michael said "what's it like in NC?" 

     I was already being extremely awkward and wanted this meal to be over so I could go to bed. I shrugged and said "it's a lot like Michigan. You know, we get snow and the seasons are normal. It's not very interesting." I looked down at my plate. Jaden grabbed my hand under the table and rubbed circles with her thumb on the back of my hand. It was very comforting. 

     "May I be excused, daddy?" a child yelled from the living room and Michael yelled back "yes, Adam. Make sure you put your dishes in the dishwasher." Catherine got up and went to the kitchen. Adam came soon after and eventually I was the only one left at the table still eating. Jaden sat down next to me and said, "you're so slow." And giggled a little. 

     "I'm full, but I don't want to be disrespectful so I'm going to eat it all." She smiled and took the plate and threw away what was left and took care of the plate and fork. "I'm tired, Link." She said and yawned. I smiled at her adorableness and she continued, "we have to share a room. I hope that's ok?" I nodded and said "I can sleep on the floor." She shook her head and replied, "we can take turns sleeping in the bed. I will sleep on the floor tonight. That's final." and she walked away. 

     I followed her down the end of the hallway where she opened a door to a room with one queen sized bed and carpeted floors. She opened the closet int the room and pulled out a pillow and a blanket and made a small bed on the floor for herself. "We left our suitcases in Michael's car." she said. I sighed and said "I'll go get them."

      I jogged down the hallway and out the door to Michael's car. I retrieved the suitcases and carried them back up to the room. I pulled my pajamas out of mine and left to the bathroom to change. I changed quickly and went back to the room. I knocked before entering and asked Jaden "are you decent?" and she just giggled and said "yeah, silly." I opened the door to Jaden cuddling under the blanket on the floor. I turned off the light and a night light turned on in the corner of the room. 

     I crawled into the bed and the alarm clock read 9:32. It made me feel old going to bed so early especially because California was three hours behind michigan, so my body thought it was six. I figured it was smart to try and sleep now because my body needed to adjust to Michigan time because we would be here for a week and a half. 

     I lay awake for a long time occasionally checking the alarm clock. I checked it and it said 1:16. I sighed and flopped back down. Now I was starting to feel tired considering my body thought it was ten. I started to doze off when I felt the bed sink down a little on the left side. I figured it was Jaden and I scooted over and rolled toward the left side where she was crawling into the bed. 

     "Hey. You alright?" I asked and she nodded. "I just had a bad dream. Link?" She asked. "Hmmm?" I said and lifted the blanket for her to crawl under. She scooted under and said "I love you, Link. Do you love me?" I was astonished by the question because we weren't officially dating even though we both knew that's what the other wanted. I wrapped my arms around her and leaned in and kissed her. I thought I was going to miss because it was dark but I didn't and we moved into a passionate kiss. 

     I slowly moved and straddled her hips and her hands were on my chest. She pulled my shirt up and over my head and threw it on the floor. I did the same to her and slowly removed my pants. We were both down to our intimates (stop reading if you don't like smut). One of her hands was in my hair lightly pulling at it and the other was on the back of my neck.

     I began unclipping her bra in the back as she pushed the elastic hem of my boxers down. I got up for a second and pulled my boxers off and looked at my erection. "Condoms?" I asked. She didn't say anything. She lifted up the side of the mattress and a strip of condoms fell out. I picked them up and read the expiration date (yes, people. Condoms do expire!!! I also do NOT condone sex, but if you are going to have sex please be safe!). I ripped one off and pulled it open and rolled into onto my erection. 

     Jaden took her panties off and dropped them next to the bed. She had opted to shave her intimate areas, probably for cleanliness, which I appreciated. I knew Jaden was a virgin so as I straddled her hips again I asked "are you sure about this?" and she nodded. I could tell she was scared.  I kissed her lips gently and inserted myself into her. He back arched upward pushing her stomach to mine and made us closer. 

     It was all the way in and she let a soft moan escape her mouth as I started moving in and out a faster pace. She covered her mouth with one hand and draped the other around my neck. My arms were both holding me up so I didn't put my full weight on her.
