***Jaden***

I spilled the water from the coffee machine all over the counter, and yelped, on accident. I was distracted by my thoughts and the person standing bent over at the fridge. I was thinking about Link, while watching him, and our date the other night. I had a really great time but I just don't know about a relationship right now. I decided I would call Katie and ask her about it later.

He turned around and realized I was watching him and that I had dumped the water. "Let me help with that." He smiled and grabbed a towel from the drawer and cleaned up the water. I just watched him and stood there like an idiot. He is such a gentleman.

A bit later, on my break, I went outside and sat on the bench by the door. I called Katie.

     "Hey. I need some advice."

"Hey, love. On what?" She asks

"A guy." I started blushing and she screamed in my ear and giggled.

"What's his name? What does he look like? How old is he? Is he cute? What does he do? Where does he live? Does he have Facebook? I can stalk him for you. And for me but that's besides the point. I want to know everything about him. Send me a picture of him." She stopped talking and I started laughing.

"His name is Link. He looks adorable. He is-" I started and she cut me off.

"I need more than adorable. Does he look like Jack? What color is his hair? How about his eyes? Is he easy on the eyes or just straight up sexy?" She said and I smiled.

"No. He does not look like Jack. He has black hair and blue eyes with glasses. I personally think he is easy on the eyes." I paused waiting for more questions. There weren't any. I continued. "He is 37. I think he is adorable. He lives next door to me. He has Facebook. I would appreciate it if you didn't stalk him and you can just look him up on google, or Facebook, or Twitter." I said. There was a long period of silence.

A shriek blasted from the speaker on my phone and an eruption of giggles. "You are dating a celebrity!!! And a cute one too! He looks so baby faced though."

"We aren't dating. We went on one date." I said.

     "Did you enjoy the date?"

"Well, yeah. I had a really good time. We went on a picnic and watched the sun set then we went home." I smiled at the memory.

"Regardless of the fact he is a celebrity, I can tell you really like him. Give him a chance. You've bounced back from Jack pretty well and if it doesn't work out with him, I'm sure you'll bounce back just as well."

"Are you sure? I just don't know if I can handle being hurt like Jack hurt me again."

"Jaden. I'm your best friend. We've known each other for thirty years. I know that no matter what happens you'll be alright. Go for him. Take the risk."

"Alright. I hope you're right. Bye Katie. I have to get back to work. Love you."

"Alright. Bye Jaden. Love you too." I hung up.

I went back inside and started wondering about Jack. I wonder how he is doing after the messy divorce. I bet he was doing better than me. He got to keep almost everything after our divorce. He kept our car, and our house, and Sammy, our dog. I missed Sammy. I missed Katie. I missed home.

"Hey, Jade. What are you thinking about?" Link had walked up beside me and pulled me out of my thoughts of home and sadness. I was instantly happy.

"Hey, cutie." I smiled and didn't process what I had said until it left my mouth, but he smiled which made me smile more.

"I was wondering if we could talk for a minute. About" he paused and thought for a minute "us." He finished.

I nodded, and we walked into his and Rhett's shared office. He closed the door behind me and sat down in his chair. I sat in Rhett's chair and my feet dangled and didn't touch the floor.

"So, I just want to know our relationship status. I really like you, Jade, and I have high hopes for us. I have good intentions, and I hope you agree." He said and all I was doing was staring at him. My eyes flicked from his eyes and lips. The next thing I knew we were kissing. When I say kissing I mean really kissing. It wasn't like the kisses we had the night before. this kiss meant something. I wasn't sure what, but I know it meant something good. When we pulled apart all Link said was "So, are we dating?" and smirked. I kissed him and giggled into the kiss and nodded.

The door handel moved and I noticed but I didn't want to stop kissing him so I didn't. I don't think he even noticed that it moved because Rhett came in and stopped dead in his tracks. Link pulled away from me quickly and wiped off his mouth and looked at me and then at Rhett.

Rhett broke the silence and awkwardness like a knife. "Sorry." He said and backed out of the office. I giggled a bit and looked up at Link who laughed a bit. He leaned over kissed my forehead and said "My place at six? We can rent some movies and I can make dinner." I smiled and nodded while getting up. I walked out with a smile plastered on my face.

Rhett was standing outside and I looked at him and laughed. "Sorry." I walked away thinking about tonight.
