***Jaden***
I was sitting on my bed, also known as a mattress on the ground in the corner of my room, debating whether or not to call Link after our awkward encounter las night. I did need a job, but I didn't know if Link would be awkward after last night. Maybe I should give him a few days.
I grab my keys off the counter and close the door behind me. I start the car and pull out of my driveway. I pick up my phone and dial the number Link gave me last night.
"Hello?" Link's voice rings in my ear.
"Hey, Link. It's Jaden."
"Hey, Jaden. I was starting to think you wouldn't call. What's up?"
"Well, I am headed out to get coffee at the cafe down the street from this address you gave me and was wondering if you wanted to meet me for coffee?" I said hoping we talk without people being around.
"Ummm, yeah. I will meet you there in five?"
"Alright. That sounds good. See ya!" I hung up and sighed. I hope this won't be awkward.
Ding! The bell on the door rings as I open the cafe door. I text Link.
Me- Hey! I'm here. What do you want?
Link- caramel latte w/ whipped cream on top.
I walk up to the counter. "Hello, ma'm. What can I get for you today?" I look at the large menu spanning across the top of the wall. I decide to just have the same thing as Link.
Ding! The bell sounds again. I divert my eyes from my phone and back to the door where Link walks in and stops. He looks down at himself, straightens his shirt, and runs his fingers through his hair. He looks up, spots me, and walks toward me to sit down.
"Uhhh... Hey." He said and sat down. I smiled "Listen, Link." I said. "I don't want things between you and me to be awkward. I am sorry for running away last night. I don't know why I did that. Maybe I'm just scared." I said sadly and looked down. "What are you afraid of?" he asks. I shake my head. "I don't want to talk about it." I said.
"Alright. You don't have to. And don't worry, we won't be awkward. We're cool. Now, what about that job?" He smiles. I sigh in relief. "What kind of job are we talking here?" I laugh. "Well, we need another assistant/runner." He said. "What do they do?"
"Why don't you swing by the studio and you can talk to Mike, our runner and the rest of the crew." He suggests. I smile and nod. "That sounds great. I have to go grocery shopping today. So how about after that?"
"Yeah. That sounds good. What time?" He said standing up. I thought for a few minutes and we walked to our cars. "Three?" I opened my car door and got in. "Yeah." he said and got into his car. I started my car and pulled out. He waved innocently. I waved back and we headed our separate ways.
---mythical time jump---
I was at my house taking care of groceries. I just got the essentials. Cereal, milk, Ramen noodles, and some other canned goods. My phone buzzed on the counter and I picked it up.
Link- The crew is super excited to meet you! Hurry up!!!
Me- Alright! I'm almost on my way! I have to finish taking care of my groceries!
I checked the time. Twenty till. I had to be leaving soon. I shoved the rest of my groceries into a random cupboard still in the bags and left again.
In the car I listened to The Fray. I created a playlist of all my favorite songs (go to my youtube channel to get the playlist. It's JessaDany, and the playlist is called Jaden's music.) which consisted of mostly The Fray and some other stuff. My music taste has really changed since my divorce.
When I pull into the parking lot of the address I was given, I saw Link's car. I get out and pause to think before opening the door to Mythical Entertainment.
~ A/N ~ Hey, y'all!!! What's up? How do you think the job meeting will go? Well... that's all I really have... have a nice day.
