My Mythical Best and My Mythical Worst

     I push the door open and breath in the scent of permanent marker mixed with coffee. On the wall there is a large sign that says Mythical Entertainment and it has some weird squirrel with antlers on it. "You must be Jaden!" An excited voice says and I remove my attention from the squirrel to a girl wearing a cute hat and glasses. 

     I nod and give a shy smile. "Hi! I'm Stevie!" she smiles. "Follow me. I can take you to Link." she says and turns away. I follow her down a hallway to a medium sized office where Link is sitting across from another guy laughing. She knocks and opens the door. 

     "Oh, hey, Jade." he called me Jade. " You're here. Come in. Sit down." Link tumbled out in one breath and stood up to give me his chair. I didn't want to be rude so I sat. He pulled a chair from the corner and sat down next to the other guy. "Hey, Link." I said and smiled at him. "We just need to ask you a few questions, and then you can meet the crew, and we will let you know about that job." The other guy said. I nodded. "I'm Rhett, by the way." He said and reached across the desk to shake my hand. 

     "What is your full name?" Link asked me. 

     "Jaden Rose Carter." 

     "How old are you?" Rhett asked.

     "Thirty-two."

     "Do you have a diploma?" Link asked 

     "Yes." 

     "What about a college degree?" Link continued.

     "Yes. I have a masters in multimedia studies and computer science." I smiled at my success. 

     "Wow. You're hired." Rhett said and laughed. Link joined in on the laughter. "How about a family Husband? Kids?" Rhett said. 

     "No. Actually. I am recently divorced and moved here from Michigan." 

     "How much free time do you have?" Link said. 

     "A lot. As of right now I'm unemployed." 

     Rhett nodded and said "Say we have an emergency and need you to come to work at a strange time, would you?" 

     I nod. "Yeah. Sure." and smile. 

     They smiled and Link said "You can go meet the crew if you'd like. Go mingle with your new co-workers." I returned a huge smile and jumped up. "Thanks so much, Link! You too, Rhett." I pulled Link into a hug. He didn't react at first, then he eased into it and hugged me back. 

     I went into the large office like area with a few desks and Stevie came up to me. "So?" I smiled and nodded. "Yeah." She smiled and jumped a little bit. "Want to meet the crew? I can show you around and introduce you to everyone." I smile and nod. 

     We walk around for a bit and I met Chase, the associate producer. I found out that Stevie is the executive producer. Mike, who is the runner which means he has to get things for them to build stuff and do other cool things, and a production assistant. Eddie and Kevin, who are  producers/writers. Benjamin who is a producer, director, and editor. Alex, the production coordinator. Morgan, the technical director, does graphics, and edits. Lizzie, a producer/writer. Candace, the social media assistant. Drew, the producer. Casey, the editor. Allie, the executive assistant. Becca, the content manager. Jen, the social media manager. And a lot more of really cool people with cool jobs. 

     She showed me the kitchen and showed me a desk and explained my job, which was just like Mike's minus the producer assistant. She was talking and Mike came up. "Hey Jaden. I'm going on a run for some stuff for Friday's video. Want to come?" I smiled and nodded. 

     Mike and I were in his car making small talk about books and shows we liked. Well, he did most of the talking. I sat there awkwardly nodding my head smiling and saying 'Mhm' and 'Yeah'. "What are we getting?" I asked. "Duct tape, chocolate syrup, and a little blow up pool." I nodded "What for?" 

     "They are doing an episode on uses for duct tape. Alex and Chase are making a hammock out of duct tape and Link thought it would be funny to make Rhett sit on it in the video and if it breaks he is going to fall into a pool of chocolate syrup." He laughed nearing the end. "And glass glue. They are supposed to be opening bottles with duct tape and Link wants to glue Rhett's closed." 

     "Wow. Link is really mean." we laughed. 

     "Rhett will get him back sooner or later." Mike said as we pulled into the parking lot. "Let's go." 

~ A/N ~ What do y'all think? I'm enjoying writing this!!! Also I really did do some research to get the crew members and their jobs. I've also changed my username accommodating to my recent obsessions.
