***Link***
I raced home after work knowing Jaden wouldn't be there. I was going to make her dinner and actually propose the right way. I wasn't proposing because she was pregnant with our baby. I had actually been planning on it for a while.
I texted her and told her to come to my place at six so we could talk and I would make dinner.
Link: Come over at 6.
I'm making food.
And we can talk.Jaden: I don't feel like it tonight. I'm tired and don't feel well. It's also raining really hard.
I just realized it was raining really hard and sighed. I looked at the time and just decided to go to bed at five. I lay staring at the ceiling for a few hours before I sat up and looked at the ring box by my bed. I jumped up and grabbed it and ran down my steps.
I opened the door to my house and really noticed how much it was raining. A boom erupted from the sky and the sky lit up with lighting. I hesitated for a moment before leaping from the safety of my house into the night. I ran over to Jaden's house and knocked on the door.
After a few moments she opened it and dropped her jaw. "Link. It's freezing cold out. Get in here." She said as another clap of thunder and lightning erupted. She jumped and shrieked a little. I dropped down to a knee and said "Jaden. I need you to marry me. Will you do me the honor of being my wife?" I opened the box and she was crying.
Lightning flashed across her face and a look of terror as the thunder erupted once again interrupting our moment. She nodded vigorously and I stood up and put the ring on her finger. She wrapped her arms around me and kissed me passionately knocking us further into her yard.
Thunder went off again and she jumped. I stopped kissing her and smiled and shouted over the rain "are you afraid of thunder?" She nodded and hurried her head into my neck. She started crying and I rubbed her back. I wasn't sure if she was crying because she was afraid of thunder or because she was happy or both.
Once we made our way inside her house, I saw she had her curtains drawn and blankets all over her couch. There was a bottle of wine on the table and a tub of ice cream and The Notebook was playing. I smiled as she pulled me to the couch. "Why are you drinking? What if you're pregnant?" I asked panicked a little. She picked up the bottle and turned it toward me and it read sparkling grape juice. I sighed a sigh of relief and sat down next to her.
The living room was mostly dark except for the movie and a flash of lightning here and there and Jaden would jump every time and nuzzled further into my side. "Are you afraid of thunder and lightning?" She lifted her head from my ribs and was blushing and nodded. Thunder erupted and I rubbed her side trying to comfort her.
***mythical time jump***
The next morning I woke up to the smell of bacon and coffee. I rolled off the couch and turned toward the kitchen where Jaden was standing with her back to me making waffles. I snuck over behind her and went to wrap my arms around her when she said "Good morning, Linky. How'd you sleep?" She pulled out a waffle and turned toward me. She kissed my cheek and I stood there dumbfounded.
"How'd you know I was there?" I said like a little kid and took the glass of orange juice she handed me. She smiled "I made you breakfast." She put a plate down on the counter and I sat at a bar stool and started to eat. She got herself a plate and sat across from me. She didn't eat very much though. She just stared lovingly at me most of the time. "What?" I said with a small smile and laugh. She shrugged and smiled at me and sighed "nothing. I just love you."
