"Sach?"

"Tito, Tita, how are you? Gayle? Ate Toni?" he consoled everyone.

"Salamat Sach," sabi ni Dad. "Gayle sa kanila ka muna."

Kina Sach? Tiningnan ko si Mommy. Wala naman syang sinabi.

"Dad? Kina Sach?" tanong ko.

"Dun ka muna sa guest room," Sach told me. "Lagi rin namang wala si Daddy sa bahay. Si Mommy busy din lagi. Wala namang tao dun basically."

Nahihiya ako at ayoko, pero wala akong magawa. I stomached saying, "Thank you Sach."

"Wala yun," he said.

We all boarded our things sa van nila. Sumakay kami sa kotse ni Sach.

"Salamat kay General Triceo. Salamat sa inyo Sachino," sabi ni Dad habang papunta kami sa bahay nila.

"We're happy to help Tito," he said proud.

Nakatingin lang ako sa labas. Hindi ko masikmura ang nangyayari. Dad lost all his power and, it seemed, all my respect too. How could he not have a back up plan? He must've done something really wrong na kahit mga kamag-anak namin, hindi nya malapitan. Sina Sach pa, sina General Triceo pa na kahit kaibigan nya, hindi nya naman gaanong nakikita na parati.

Malaki ang bahay nina Sach. Ate felt at home. Hiyang-hiya naman sina Mommy at Dad nang humarap sila kina Tita Nellie at General Triceo.

We all had the most silent dinner ever. The Triceos tried to be polite and normal but I could tell they were pitying us. I hated that.

Ate and I shared a room for the night. Sa kabilang guest room naman sina Dad at Mommy.

Hindi pa rin nagsasalita si Ate but she's slowly having normal reactions. Sana lang hindi sya mabaliw ng tuluyan.

I heard knocking. I opened the door and it was Sach.

"Are you already sleeping? Or-"

Umiling ako.

"Want to go outside?"

I looked at Ate peacefully lying down. Lumabas ako and joined Sach.

The Triceo mansion has a huge pool that goes from the inside out. We sat at the edge of the pool looking at the stars.

"How are you?" Sach asked.

"I don't know. Barely alive," I said and weakly smiled.

"Do you know what happened?"

"I fear that if I know, I'd hate Dad even more," sagot ko.

Tumango sya. "I know about you and Trite."

I looked at him. "We've been together before I met you Sach."

"The thing is, their family is the one doing this to your Dad."

"What?" gulat kong tanong.

"Well not them directly. Tito nila Trite. Hindi namin kamag-anak. Kamag-anak nila. Mom is sister to Trite's Dad kasi. And it's Trite's Mom's brother who did it."

"Ano bang nangyari?" tanong ko na.

"So you want to know now?"

Tumango ako.

"Your Dad committed fraud. He was not returning profits from investments made to him. Brother ng mommy nila Trite ang may pinaka-malaking na-invest sa Dad mo. He had your Dad investigated kaya yun."
