Names have power:
Angela means 'messenger from above.'
Amelia means 'striving defender', which, at her heart, she is. A spoiler for everyone: Amelia gets a redemption arc.
Eleanor means 'shining light', which is pretty self explanatory. She is everyone's light and always will be(that's a clue for later books in the series btw)

Eve is the name of the First sinner in the bible, who, through foolishness, determined a sad fate for the rest of mankind
Marke is a variant of Mark, which can be translated to mean 'warlord'
Dakota means 'friend'
Now, for those who've read the book, here's a little game. I'm going to give you the name, and a few describing words of the characters for the sequel, and you guess their role.
Eve: Anxious. Overly observant. Hopeful.
Marke: Tired. Losing hope.
Dakota: Fire, in many ways. Easily flustered. Unsuspecting.
Cierra: A garter snake. Suspcious but unsuspecting.
