"Well, we don't count. We can't hear The Speech of Gods because we are the Gods. Get it? And really, we don't hand out that ability. A person will just happen to contract it. It's only happened thrice, and none of it was our doing.
"There was that one poor person, who stumbled into The Village, and suddenly saw our words, in the form of carefully covered timelines, that somehow were revealed to them. Then, there was that poor experiment, who could hear our Speech. She tried to run from it, but she couldn't escape."
"Last, a writer who has our Speech appear as thoughts in their head. At this moment, they write our words, channeling the Speech into writing and hoping someone will see it. They are desperate for attention, and are scared of people thinking that the Speech isn't a good enough story. To them, we can say that realness never makes a good story.
"So you can see that the 'gift' that is witnessing our Speech is more of a curse, bending the mind of an a broken experiment, killing the soul of a cheerful fighter, and causing desperation in the mind of a regular writer."
