-Calum's POV-
Brooke seemed to think I knew what I was doing, which was great. Because I didn't really have a clue. The picnic in the park idea was one of my favourites and I was pretty annoyed I couldn't make it come true.
"I bet this is the best first date you've ever been on," I said sarcastically to Brooke, as we walked down a small side street littered with fairy lights. She laughed.
"I'm actually loving it so far," she said. She was being genuine, I could tell by the tone of her voice and the way she smiled when she said it, which warmed my heart.
We turned into another main street, one which I hoped Brooke would be familiar with.
"Are we going back to yours?" she asked, a flicker of recognition crossing her face as we began walking down the street. I nodded.
"I'm sorry, I didn't really have a plan B and this was what I came up with on the spot" I said, stopping and turning to face her, still holding her hand. I could feel my frown on my forehead. I was upset I couldn't make our "first date" a properly special one. She shook her head and had to go on her tiptoes a bit to kiss my cheek.
"Don't apologise," she said, "I don't mind where we go at all. Plus, I'd love to see your place since we've been to mine." I smiled at her response and we began walking again.
We reached the house that I had been calling home since November, and we walked inside to find that there was nobody home.

-Brooke's POV-
"Hello?" Calum called out. "Guys?" Calum walked into a room, calling out his friends' names with a confusion ridden voice.
I stood in the doorway, looking into a large, open plan living/dining room. It was really spacious. A lot more so than my place, anyway. There were really nice curtains up. What am I saying?!
"This is a really nice house," I said simply, taking in the rest of the room and not just the curtains.
"Thanks, I made it myself," Calum called from another room.
"Take you long?" I asked, playing along.
"Nah, only about an hour," he said, reappearing behind me and sliding his arms around my stomach. "Cause of my huge muscles and all," he added. I snorted.
He kissed my neck, sending a small tingle down my spine, and walked towards the table in the room. There was some kind of notepad on the table, with writing on it. I watched Calum as he read the note. His chest was rising and falling steadily and his eyebrows had begun to knit themselves into a concentrated frown. He was holding the notepad in his hands like it was the most fragile thing on earth, he was so gentle with it. He looked over to me after he had finished reading.
"The guys are away out to buy stuff for the tour," he said, quietly, replacing the pad on the table. He looked troubled, which made a wave of worry crash all around me, reminding me of just how much I cared for him.
"You okay?" I asked, moving closer to him. His face softened out of the troubled expression it had once held, resuming to its usual brightness with only a hint of the previous expression.
"I'm good, yeah," he said, "it's just the tour is quite long and I'd be away for a while." I could almost feel my heart melting; he was so thoughtful and caring for other people. He never thought of himself first. I stuck out my bottom lip as subtle way of showing my sadness.
I didn't know how to react to that fact fully. I mean, I knew 5 Seconds of Summer were supporting One Direction on their tour and I knew that it started in the UK, but when I met the band, I sort of forgot they were doing it, if you know what I mean. They just felt like any other teenage guy you would have met on the street in London. Except insanely gorgeous. With nice accents.
