Prologue - Beauty 's Death

Beline’s P.O.V (Age 17)

They pull on the cold glistering metal wrapping around my purple wrist. My body is yanked forward, causing me to fall on my knees. A puff of dirt sprinkled into the air filling my lungs inducing a fit of coughing. They grabbed my hair and I yelped out in pain, my fear evident in my crystal clear eyes. They smirked at me, their faces blending together the only thing I see are their smiles. They carry dark aura with their malicious nature, crooked yellow teeth filled my every memory. “Venu vagabond.” He spat his chap lips curly into two thin lines. He dragged me to the stage the light crippling my eyes but my ear caught the sound of men roaring.

“Men, men come and see the beautiful Belinée (pronounced Be-la-nie) dance and sing.” The evil one sang in accented English. You could hear the malevolence in his beautiful melodic voice. “Her voice rivals the sirens and her beauty Aphrodite herself,” men voiced, urging him to make me sing and dance. He stepped closer and removed the chains on my wrist, shoving me into the spot light. “Sing and dance.” He ordered. I closed my eye and sense for the mantle of a rune that may be confining my gift, there is none and I know they got careless. Their plan of abduction was brilliant but I guess they never found out what I can really do. So I complied with his demand, I sang, my face expression not changing a bit. I opened my mouth my voice coming out stiff at first but then turning into a sweet almost bitter sound. I look around at the crowd of men. Their eyes had turned white and they no longer yelled. Silence echoed throw the saloon as I sang hypnotizing ever person that heard my voice.

“Lead the way to freedom my strong sailor men, take me to the water where the land shines intense. Listen to my every word even after this song has end.” I sang finishing of my enchantment. I stepped out and off the stage into the crowd of men. “Get out of my way.” I ordered them and they stepped out my way each of them bowed as I walked by them as if I were some kind of goddess. I walked right out of those doors expecting to find some freedom but finding that I had to hide that I was different. She will have to hide what she is from everyone even her family to protect them from the people who have come to rule every part of this world with cruelty and fear.

Forty Years Later

Beline laid on her death bed mere moments from her bed. Her skin wrinkled and sickly grey color. She was old, her hair white with not a single strand of purplish black hair from her youth and yet like her formative years she was still beautiful, although her hair was no longer a very dark purple almost black it still shone and felt like silk in someone’s hands. Her crystal clear blue eyes the darkest soul piecing blue full of wisdom. Her lips pale from the coming death, gasp out incoherent words.

“Ssh mama, don’t strain yourself, your death will only come quicker if you do.” Her daughter said trying to mentally reassure herself that her life will be fine after her mother is gone. Her daughter did not want her mother to die. The person she loved the most she already lost her father and was still raw from the pain. She wants her mother to be fine, to be able to scowl her when she dose wrong and to tell her what is going to happen if she doesn’t listen to her words. Nancy knew this wasn’t possible, her mother who had endured being shot multiple times and cancer is now dying of old age. Tears formed in her eyes and she began sobbing silently trying not to disturb her mother.

“Child of mine don’t cry and remember this,” she pauses for a moment moistening her lips before reopening them.            “The day of the black sun is near

Their birthed in the world controlled by Fear

Child of sun

Child of moon

Each holding a secret, a powerful rune

Child of the Sun

Behold the Luminous

Control over Earth

Air

And Fire

Light shall run through the veins

Child of the Moon

Behold the Shadow

Control over Earth

Air

And Water

Darkness shall rule the way

Neither good nor evil

Unaided shall they fail

Together they will prevail

Destroying the fear locked in the world

Fulfilling the Prophecy of the Inked Star”

Her mother sang her voice still as beautiful as in her youth. Nancy did not understand her mother’s song but she knew she will remember it, the beauty of her mother’s voice imprinted on her soul. “I love you Nancy.” Her mother murmured to her only child in a hushed voice, the very last words Nancy will ever hear her mother say.
