he was shot dead
lying on his back,
arms outstretched
begging for the mercy
that would never be granted
to others, he was just a boy
a boy controlled by the iron fists
of society
and anger that built up in the crevasses
of his heart
but he was my best friend's brother
I only remember him as a young boy
who swung from branches
and laughed
a young boy who knew only innocence
Oh, I only wish to know what happened!

You don't have to agree with me, but I do believe there is a problem with police brutality in the United States. I'd like to say that most officers do their job for the good but there are a few bad apples in the police force who abuse their powers; this abuse of powers sometimes results in the loss of life.
