Chapter 2

~ 4:35 am - Thursday Morning ~

I woke up went in the closet put an outfit together, I took a 10 minute shower then got dressed, put on alittle make up and went downstairs, I had time so I made a few french toast sticks before leaving. I headed to the bus stop. While waiting at the bus stop a car pulled up and Sean stuck his head out the window. "Hey India you want a ride?" "Sure" I said stepping off the curb and getting in the car. He drove off and 15 minutes later we arrived at school. We got out the car and headed to the door. "You look good Indy damn." He said putting his arm around my shoulder. "Thanks Sean, you look cute too." I replied looking up at him. He had on a black shirt with red and white writing and his Jordan 8's. We walked into school and everybody automatically directed their attention to us. "Damn girl you just got here and you already fucking around" "She a nasty ass hoe that's all" "Yo dirty ass needa go back where you came from" "Damn Sean" "AY! Shut the fuck up, we ain't together and we aint fucking yall shut yo damn mouths and talk what you fucking know." Sean said yelling throughout the hall way. "Sean calm down I don't pay them no mind." I said trying to pull him into the courts and sat in the bleachers. He finally followed and we walked over to his friends "Yeo!" Sean and his friend said in unison. I took one look at them hit an about face and walked back toward the building.

"India hold on" I heard Sean call after me but I ignored him. He finally caught up with me and pulled me into him by my arm. "India stop girl damn for yo legs to be that short you sure can walk fast. Where you going school don't start for another 20 minutes." "Whatever I just didn't want to be over there with your friends." Truth is I recognized a couple of them, Darren use to hang around them but after everything happened they moved back to Harlem. Dirt bags. "Why not?" "Because I don't.." He sat next to me and we just talked until it was time to go to first period.

~ At Lunch ~

Finally I wont have to see teachers for a good 30 mins. But I wont have anybody to talk to at lunch, I went and got my lunch then went back to the spot I was originally going to sit at yesterday and I ate half my food when somebody came up behind me and tried to pull me over. "What the fuck!" I said hittin the person that was pulling me down I realized it was Sean. "Damn girl calm down I ain't gone let you fall." He said pushing me back onto the ledge. "That's not funny Sean don't do that." I said throwing my trash away and getting ready to walk away. "Wait where you going?" "To the Media Center I never got my text books yesterday." "Oh ight lets go." He said putting his arm around my shoulder and we started walking to the Media Center. I only had two textbooks. Sean took them and put em in his car for me since he offered to give me a ride home.

The rest of the day was boring when Sean took me home nobody was there so I offered him to come in for a minute. We walked in and I lead him to the kitchen. "You want something to drink or eat?" I asked getting some juice out the fridgerator. "Yea I'll get what you get." He said textin on his phone. Not even paying me any attention. "Ok." I said going in the dishwasher and taking all the cups out and putting them under back against the counter. "Why you putting them up there? Y'all don't have a cup cabinet." "Yes, but I can't reach them so they leave me 6 cups down on the counter for my height disadvantage." I said pouring the juice into each cup. "Ha why you so lil is yo mom small?" "She's 5'4" and my dad is 5'8." " I said handing him his juice then putting mines on the counter so I could climb up onto the barstool. Oh ight."

"Yo you inviting strangers in my spot when I'm not here now?" "Hey..this is my friend Sean we go to school together." I said not making eye contact with either of them. "Hey Sean, I'm India's Aunty Lisa and this is my fiance Joe.." "Hey nice to meet you both." Sean said standing up from the chair I stood up too and was about to pull him to the door but Joe had to say some. "So I just got one question, why you in my house?" "I invited him in, he's the one that gives me rides home after school." I said answering for Sean. "Oh this is the one that had you out hours after school yesterday.." My aunt asked with a curious face. "Yes ma'am but I was just tryna show her that not everybody at West Side aren't all the same." Sean said with confidence. "Oh well, next time you have guest Indy make sure you let us know. Please and Thank you, have a nice evening Sean." My aunt said putting the groceries up. I pulled Sean out the front door and closed the door behind us. "My fault." "Its fine but can I get yo number" I pulled out my phone and unlocked it and he did the same then we put our numbers in eachothers phone."You know yesterday was my first day at school since school started, I wouldn't of come today if i aint meet you." "Aww I feel special, but damn why you ain't go?" I asked leaning against the car door with my hand on my hip. "Because it's boring as fuck and them teachers be asking me to do shit I don't wanna do. And they know I be slinging" "Oh true, well you made it to your senior year you need to start going. I wanna see you in that robe walking across the stage getting your diploma." "I hear you Indy. We'll talk bout it later I gotta go meet up with Rell and Tariq." "Alright I'll see you tommorrow." "Yea 2 o'clock." He said bending down to give me a hug then got in his car and drove off.
