Sirius x Reader

You drop the newspaper to the floor, eyes wide and jaw loose. The inhabitants of your living room look up, "What's wrong (y/n)?" Remus asks. You shake your head slightly letting out a sob before pointing at the newspaper on the floor.

"He's escaped."

Somewhere in you, you always knew that your husband, Sirius, was innocent. He would never murder his best friends. He was a kind and gentle man, but prison had obviously driven him slightly mad. You were terrified, your hands shake incessantly as you go about your daily business.

A very quiet tap at the glass of your kitchen window attracts your attention and you spin around to find an unfamiliar owl, with a letter in its beak.

You pull the small envelope from its beak and open it out, tears welling in your eyes as you recognise the handwriting that reads:

I'm coming home, my love.

You immediately know who it's from, and panic slightly, not knowing whether to trust him. Oh for gods sake (y/n), you think to yourself, he's your husband! He won't hurt you.

And with that, you went off to bed, awaiting Sirius' arrival.

The quiet padding of paws awakes you from your slumber. You look out of the window to see a large black dog and know immediately what, or more like who, it is. The dog wanders off into a bush and you sprint through the house and out of the door, just as he reemerges from the bushes. You throw yourself into his arms, sobbing.

"I've missed you, my love. I'm home now, (y/n). I won't be leaving anytime soon, I can promise you that I am innocent. I love you with all my heart, my dearest wife." He whispers into your hair. You smile and hold him tighter.

"I love you too"
